Many celebrated or lamented the presidential victory of #Lula, but the real battle was decided in Congress, and the numbers don't lie: the left will govern with its hands tied.

In the first round, the opposition and the center-right achieved a crushing victory, snatching control of both chambers from the left.

Here is what the new map of legislative power looks like:

Right: 48 seats (59.3%) 🔵
Absolute majority consolidated!

Others: 33 seats (40.7%) ⚪

🗳️ CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES (513 seats | Majority: 257)
Right: 303 seats (59.1%) 🔵
Center: 86 seats (16.8%) 🟡
Left: Only 124 seats (24.2%) 🔴
(Far from being able to influence on its own).

What does this mean? That any reform, budget, or law will have to pass through a gigantic opposition containment wall.

The new government faces a historic Congress that will give it no respite.
