Iran’s judiciary announced that Erfan Kiani, one of those detained during the January 2026 protests in Isfahan, was executed on Saturday, April 25.
According to the official account, Kiani had been tried and sentenced to death on the charge of moharebeh (waging war against God) in connection with the January 8 protests at Chaharrah-e Pirouzi in Isfahan. Mizan News Agency and other state-affiliated outlets alleged that he was involved in damaging and setting fire to public and private property, starting fires, using Molotov cocktails, blocking traffic, attacking officers, and creating fear and panic.
