According to human rights sources, Mohammad Sohrabzadeh, a young Kurdish man from the village of Kamiz near Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, was killed after being shot by government forces.
Reports indicate that on the evening of March 29, 2026, he was traveling with his parents in a private car on the road from Qolian to Sanandaj when plainclothes agents opened fire on the vehicle without prior warning. He was struck by two bullets, sustained critical injuries, and died before reaching a medical facility.
Sources say he was buried the following day under heavy security measures in his hometown.
The incident comes amid heightened military tensions in the region, as Kurdish cities have seen an increased security presence, including a growing number of checkpoints and plainclothes forces deployed across urban and intercity routes.
