Bahman Modirzadeh, a resident of Qotur and a member of the city council, has been held by security forces for five days, with his family and relatives still unaware of his whereabouts or condition.

According to Kurdpa, the 39-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, without a warrant by IRGC intelligence forces in Khoy County. He was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.

A source familiar with the case said the arrest was linked to an Instagram story in which Modirzadeh expressed opposition to death sentences. However, security authorities have not publicly provided a specific reason for his arrest or disclosed any charges against him.

Since his arrest, Modirzadeh has been denied access to a lawyer and has not been allowed to contact or meet with his family. The continued lack of information about his whereabouts and condition has heightened concerns among his family and relatives.

Modirzadeh is from Qotur, a city in Khoy County, West Azarbaijan Province, and serves as a member of its city council. No further information is currently available about the charges against him or the status of his case.
