The two-year and seven-month prison sentence imposed on Hadi Jalali, a teacher living in Kerman, has been upheld by Branch 7 of the Kerman Province Court of Appeals. He had previously been convicted by Branch 1 of the Kerman Revolutionary Court on the charge of establishing a group with the aim of perturbing national security.

Based on received reports, the appeals court issued its ruling just eight days after the case was referred to the court and without holding a hearing. The case reportedly cited alleged information exchanges with individuals linked to Israel, along with media and propaganda-related activities.

Jalali was arrested by security forces in August 2024 and was released about a month later after posting bail of 10 billion rials (approximately $18,000).
