Leila Moallemi, a 47-year-old originally from Hormozgan Province and currently residing in Mashhad, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Mashhad Revolutionary Court. She was arrested by security forces on May 28, 2026, and transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. The sentence was subsequently communicated to her while she was in prison.

According to information received, the sentence is related to a voice message Moallemi sent to a media outlet outside Iran. In the message, she expressed concern about students in Minab, saying she wished the school principal had evacuated the students when the war began. Further details about the charges against her and the court branch that issued the sentence have not been made public.

According to reports received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC), Moallemi has a heart condition and has limited access to adequate medical care in prison, raising concerns about her health while she remains incarcerated at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
