According to a report received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center, Majid Asgharnejad, a 31-year-old resident of Amol, was wounded by gunfire on either January 8 or 9, 2026, and was hospitalized.

The report states that his condition was improving and that he was expected to be discharged. However, it was later announced that he had
died.

بر اساس گزارشی که به مرکز اسناد حقوق بشر ایران رسیده است، مجید اصغرنژاد، شهروند ۳۱ ساله و ساکن آمل، در یکی از روزهای ۱۸ یا ۱۹ دی ۱۴۰۴ بر اثر اصابت گلوله مجروح و در بیمارستان بستری شده بود.

طبق این گزارش، وضعیت جسمی او رو به بهبود بوده و قرار بود از مرکز درمانی مرخص شود، اما به‌طور ناگهانی اعلام شده است که وی جان باخته است.
