According to a report received by the Iran Human Rights Documentation Center (IHRDC), two residents of Neyshabur, Armin Sharifian and Mehran Arefpour, have been arrested by security forces.

Armin Sharifian, a 17-year-old minor, was arrested at his workplace on February 8, 2026. Despite ongoing inquiries by his family, no information has been made available regarding his place of detention, the reasons for his arrest, or any charges brought against him. The lack of information has caused serious concern for his family.

Reports further indicate that Mehran Arefpour, a DJ from Neyshabur, was also arrested in connection with the January 2026 protests and has been accused of leading the demonstrations. The exact date of his arrest remains unknown. It is also reported that a video purportedly containing his forced confession was published by a news agency affiliated with the IRGC. Due to security pressures imposed on the families of detainees and existing communication restrictions, independent verification of these reports is not currently possible.
