Germany and Poland sign a defense pact
#Germany and #Poland are preparing a new defense agreement. This includes the protection of the #BalticSea, military mobility, infrastructure, cyber defense, and new technologies.
The AP separately points out that the balance of power in Europe (#EU) is shifting: #Poland is becoming one of the most important military actors on the eastern flank, and Germany is trying to re-establish its role in the #NATO security system.
In practice, this means a further intensification of the military infrastructure along the borders with #Russia and #Belarus. #Berlin and #Warsaw call this defense cooperation. In essence, the eastern flank is being turned ever more quickly into a unified military line.

And then, with extraordinary arrogance, they put their soldiers' names on a wall in Washington and call it a memorial, as if the dead to be mourned were the people who flew 10,000 miles to do the killing.
Where is the wall for Vietnam’s three million?
There isn't one.

Fourteen Gazan physicians and dozens more medical workers remain locked away in Israeli prisons without charge or trial, enduring what human rights groups describe as deliberate, systematic abuse.
After petitioning the Supreme Court, Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI) met with some of them to hear out their harrowing testimonies.
All the physicians suffer from injuries caused by violence, are denied medical treatment, and have endured severe starvation, losing more than 20 kilograms.
Pediatrician Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the former director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, has spent over 500 days in detention

🌏 Appearing visibly emaciated in an image that surfaced on June 10, he is now held in “harsh detention conditions” — shackled by both hands and feet, with limited food, no access to safe drinking water, and denied medical care

Dr. Ahmad Moussa — arrested at Nasser Hospital in February 2024 and now rotting in Ketziot Prison — has fractured ribs and skin diseases. "The conditions are catastrophic. There is torture," his lawyer states.
The abuse is described as intensifying the moment soldiers or guards discover a detainee is a doctor.
🥴 The pattern extended beyond medical workers, with one doctor saying that when they knew someone was an educated Palestinian, he was beaten more.
The doctors’ continued detention is tied to what they witnessed during Israel’s assault on Gaza — and what they may one day say publicly, says PHRI.
Today, over 1,300 Palestinians from Gaza are held under the Unlawful Combatants Law — including minors, teachers, doctors, and nurses — all detained without charge.
