Did UK intelligence stage the Salisbury Novichok attack? | Propaganda In Focus

The final report delivered to the public inquiry into the death of Dawn Sturgess, a British woman who died four months after the Russian state allegedly attempted to assassinate the former spy Sergei Skripal in 2018, did something unprecedented: it explicitly considered the possibility that UK intelligence had somehow staged the events.

After spending some time considering this possibility in his report, the chair of the inquiry, retired Supreme Court judge Lord Anthony Hughes, decided that he was “sure” such staging had not occurred.

But how did Hughes arrive at this certainty? In this article we will examine the questions around a potential staging scenario that Hughes addressed, and how he responded to them.

❗️Israel burns more than 120 hectares of centuries-old olive groves in southern Lebanon

▪️According to L'Orient-Le Jour, Israeli occupation forces set fire to more than 120 hectares (1,200 dunams) of olive groves and fruit orchards in the occupied border town of Yaroun (Bint Jbeil District), with the blaze burning for over 36 hours.

▪️Yaroun Municipality Chairman Hafez Ghacham told L'Orient that the fire destroyed centuries-old olive trees, some more than 100 years old, while others were at least 50 years old.

▪️Because the village lies within the area occupied by Israeli forces, residents and firefighters were unable to reach the site, leaving the flames to consume the land unchecked.

▪️Ghacham described the destruction as an assault on Yaroun's history, identity, and livelihood, saying the olive groves had been passed down through generations and supported dozens of families. He estimated the destroyed land would have produced thousands of cans of olive oil, noting that each dunam yields an average of six cans, with each can worth around $150.

▪️He recalled watching the fields burn "helpless and in tears," adding that "houses can be rebuilt, but the old olive trees will take decades to return," while his 84-year-old father told him he was "more saddened by the trees than by the house."

▪️The municipality said it would submit evidence of the destruction to the United Nations, accusing Israel of targeting not only homes but also the environment, cultural heritage, and agricultural life of southern Lebanon.

Before Spain's Invasion, the GOP Gave Morocco $40 MILLION | Kim Iverson

Two weeks before migrants surged into Ceuta, the GOP passed a bill with $40 million for Morocco — and a committee report calling Spain's enclaves "Moroccan territory." Thomas Massie surfaced the receipt, and Kim connects the dots: Netanyahu's earlier threats against Spain, resurfaced Yair Netanyahu posts urging Arabs to "liberate" Ceuta and Melilla, Israeli officials like Danny Danon demanding Spain answer for its "colonial enclaves," a top Rubio ally declaring the cities are "not in Spain" — and Israeli media openly describing Morocco's claim as a pressure point Israel is "uniquely positioned to press." On the ground: crossers say Moroccan police pointed them toward the border, Ceuta's own mayor accuses Sánchez of lying about how many migrants have left ("10 to 15 thousand" remain), residents say they're afraid to walk their own streets — and Moroccan Instagram accounts are already organizing a second mass crossing for August 15

The War of Perception: The West’s infowarfare and cognitive warfare against Russia | Strategic Culture

Joint Publication 3-13 (Information Operations, 2012 edition with subsequent updates) defines IO as the integrated use of information capabilities during military operations to influence, disrupt, corrupt, or usurp the adversary’s decision-making process, while protecting one’s own. The key point is that U.S. doctrine explicitly limits such operations to the context of hostilities or their immediate preparation: it does not contemplate, at least on the stated level, a “permanent information confrontation” in peacetime. It is precisely this temporal limitation, as we shall see, that constitutes the main conceptual asymmetry with Russian doctrine, and it is documented by Russian analysts themselves when they distinguish their own “broad” definition from the Western “narrow” one.

Israel blames Iran for cyberattack that damaged food processor's cooling systems

Iran has been blamed for a cyber attack on the refrigeration system of an Israeli food processor which reprogrammed the controllers and destroyed the compressors.

An Iranian state-directed persona, Cyber Isnaad Front, deployed remote access software, disguised as a Microsoft update.

Refrigeration engineers were called to the plant when temperatures rose in cold rooms and freezers and found that valves had been reconfigured and passwords changed, locking them out of their own equipment.

The motorized valves were pinned permanently open, venting CO2 to the atmosphere, and destroying three compressors.

Cyberattacks on our food systems have been on the rise this year. Grow those gardens...

❗️Human Rights Watch: Israel's killing of Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was an 'apparent war crime'

▪️Human Rights Watch concluded that the 22 April 2026 Israeli attack that killed Al-Akhbar journalist Amal Khalil and seriously wounded freelance journalist Zainab Faraj in Al-Tiri, southern Lebanon, amounted to an "apparent war crime." The organization said the evidence indicates Israeli forces knew or should have known they were civilians, then obstructed rescue efforts for hours, likely costing Khalil her life.

▪️According to HRW's investigation, Israeli forces carried out three separate strikes, despite UNIFIL transmitting a Lebanese Red Cross deconfliction request identifying journalists at the scene. HRW also said Israeli quadcopter drones appeared to monitor the journalists before the fatal strike, while Red Cross paramedics were forced to retreat after a drone-delivered stun grenade and an ambulance was apparently struck by small-arms fire.

▪️HRW called on Lebanon to join the International Criminal Court, investigate the attack domestically, and criminalize war crimes, while urging the US, UK, Germany, and other EU states to suspend arms transfers to Israel, impose targeted sanctions on officials responsible for abuses, and press for accountability.
🇺🇸🇷🇺🇺🇦 On Russia Wrecking Ukrainian Shipping

▪️The US-directed attacks on Russian maritime shipping has resulted in heavy Russian strikes on Ukrainian shipping as well as port infrastructure and logistical networks connecting them to the rest of Ukraine;

▪️While this has a strategic impact on the overall war in Ukraine, inhibiting arms imports as well as impacting Ukraine's economy, it is a PROXY war - thus it is simply Russia and Ukraine destroying each other as the main instigator - the US - remains unaffected;

▪️The US use of proxy war enables it to grind down both its own proxies and targeted nations in the hopes of reducing their overall economic and military power to compensate for the US' inability to match either let alone both;

▪️Until the US pays a price for its wars and proxy wars it sees no reason not to continue - no matter how badly Russia wrecks Ukraine - the US never cared about what was always a fully expendable proxy in the first place;
Italy's Draft AI Decree Lets Police Take the Biometrics of Everyone at a Protest | Reclaim The Net

Italy's government has written a decree that would let police collect the biometric data of everyone entering a location it designates as "sensitive" for public order and store that data for seven days. Its own data protection authority, the Garante, said in its formal opinion that the provision is "not coherent with the AI Act," the European regulation the decree exists to implement.

Public squares, stadiums, railway stations and streets during demonstrations, marches, sports events and concerts are the examples given in the parliamentary papers. Where the edge of a square or a street would be drawn, the draft does not say. Article 10 leaves the operating rules to a later decree from the interior minister, written after consulting the Garante.

Personally, I believe Lindsey Graham was eliminated by Putin

Remember, he confidently laughed while saying the war had cost many Russian lives and its best investment.

Remember when he advocated for the assassination of Putin, and Russia put him on its terrorist list.

Remember that he was one of the major influencers behind the assassination of Ayatollah Khamenei.

He died in Kyiv, some hours before his death was announced by his family. A hotel in Kyiv and a drone factory were targeted by Russia — said to be the same factory he visited. There is no evidence that he returned to the USA. Zero evidence.

The “Chat Control 1.0” saga - European Digital Rights (EDRi)

Roberta Metsola, president of the European Parliament and a member of the European People’s Party (EPP), which is rapidly gaining infamy for undermining democratic processes.
Roberta Metsola surprised everyone by suggesting to the European Council to ignore the position of the Parliament she represents.

The EU governments swiftly agreed to push the text again, forcing the Parliament through a rarely-used procedure: a third vote, this time for a “second reading” of the file.
