Occupation 101: Voices Of The Silenced Majority | 2006

Is an award-winning #documentary film on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict directed by Sufyan Omeish and Abdallah Omeish, and narrated by If Americans Knew founder Alison Weir. The film focuses on the effects of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and discusses events from the rise of #Zionism to the Second #Intifada and Israel's unilateral disengagement plan, presenting its perspective through dozens of interviews, questioning the nature of Israeli-American (#US) relations

In particular, the Israeli military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, and the ethics of US monetary involvement. [1]
#Occupation 101 includes interviews with mostly American and Israeli scholars, religious leaders, humanitarian workers, and NGO representatives — more than half of whom are Jewish — who are critical of the injustices and human rights abuses stemming from Israeli policy in the #WestBank, #EastJerusalem, and #Gaza.

🇵🇸 Brother of Intifada icon Muhammed al-Durrah killed by Israeli strike | L'Orient Le Jour –

Local Palestinian media reported that Ahmad al-Durrah was killed Thursday by Israeli forces in #BureijRefugeeCamp in #Gaza, 23 years after his brother Mohammed was killed by Israeli soldiers in the lap of his father, Jamal. Mohammed's death was filmed and broadcast on France 2, a public national television channel, narrated by the station's bureau chief.

Mohammed al-Durrah was 12 when he was killed, crouched behind his father as bullets rained down around them, and the images and footage of them spread throughout the world, turning him into a symbol of the Second #Intifada (2000-2005) during which more than 3,000 Palestinians were killed across the occupied #WestBank and Gaza Strip.

In October, 2023, Israeli forces also killed two of Jamal al-Durrah’s brothers, a sister-in-law and a niece.

🇵🇸 A year of resistance and repression: a timeline of ‘Operation Break the Wave’ | Mondoweiss

In 2022 the #IOF counterinsurgency campaign Operation Break the Wave sought to break the back of a newly-emerging phenomenon of armed Palestinian #resistance. This timeline explains a pivotal moment in Palestinian history that continues to unfold.

For the first time since the Second
#Intifada, Palestinians collectively took up arms and pointed them at the colonizer. #Nablus and #Jenin became the most important epicenters for the various armed groups that took shape throughout the course of the year, the most important being the #JeninBrigade and the #LionsDen

Resistance was not limited to the armed groups, either. A string of “lone wolf” operations targeting Israeli settlers and soldiers posed a serious problem for the IOF counterinsurgency strategy and marked a significant security failure ..
