Rima Tannous, Therese’s comrade-in-arms, shared her story of involvement, resistance, torture and oppression inside Israeli prisons in a statement published in 1979 after her release as part of a collection, Palestinian Political Prisoners: Struggle Behind Iron Bars, published by the PLO’s Unified Information Department and the Committee for the Defense of Political Prisoners in Israeli Jails.

Rima’s story includes a detailed description of her and Therese’s reunification behind bars, as well as their interaction with international political prisoners jailed by Israel for their involvement in the Palestinian struggle.

🇵🇸 Egypt's Gaza proposal : Redistribution, not displacement | The Cradle

#Egypt has drafted a proposal for the reconstruction of the #Gaza Strip, which serves as an alternative to #US President Donald #Trump’s scheme to take over the enclave and expel its #population.

The #plan is made up of two stages. The first is reconstruction without a displacement of Palestinians from their land, and the second is restricting the flow of weaponry throughout Gaza. 

The first stage “extends over 10 years and includes large-scale #reconstruction operations, including #infrastructure and #housing, in addition to preliminary measures for a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue,” according to an Egyptian diplomat. 

The #resistance’s #weapons will be dealt with in a way so that arrangements are made to impose “restrictions and controls” on weapons depots without complete disarmament.

The second stage of the deal would establish a time frame for the implementation of a #TwoStateSolution.

It is presented as a rational step, an economic necessity, a gateway to stability. And like any effective psychological operation, it follows a blueprint.

🇵🇸 Instrumentalized activism: When Palestine becomes a showcase for foreign agendas

Amid the Israeli assault on the new #FreedomFlotilla—whose unarmed activists were arrested and ridiculed by the IOF—it is necessary to discuss who is spearheading solidarity with Palestine and from what ideological frameworks they do so.

One of the most emblematic cases is that of #GretaThunberg, whose image has been linked in recent years to multiple causes, including the Palestinian cause. However, her record shows a worrying trend: she has conflated support for Palestine with other causes such as the LGBT agenda or Western environmentalism, and has supported mobilizations in #Syria and #Iran that have clearly been promoted and financed by foreign agencies, such as the #Mossad and the #CIA, to destabilize the #resistance movement.

Thunberg has consistently condemned armed resistance and promotes a liberal, secular vision of human rights based on institutions like the #UN, disregarding the strategies that oppressed peoples have legitimately chosen to defend themselves. This isn't just political naiveté: it's a way of imposing alien ideological conditions on causes that have their own history, identity, and framework of struggle.

Their activism to impose restrictions on developing countries under the pretext of climate change has been applied to #Palestine: should they rebuild #Gaza with green energy while Israel destroys it with drones? Should the industrialization of occupied countries be halted in the name of the "ecological transition"? This demand is a modern form of domination that prevents colonized peoples from recovering and resisting.

The seizure of the flotilla is yet another example of #Zionist contempt for any act of solidarity, even symbolic. The IOF distributed food and water to the #activists as a mockery, even though those same products cannot enter Gaza due to the #blockade. Still, not everyone on board consistently represents the Palestinian cause. Along with Thunberg, there were MEPs who have supported the unrest in Iran, and none of them recognize the legitimacy of armed resistance.

Not every alliance or support is welcome if it weakens the ideological clarity of the struggle. We cannot support the Palestinian cause while condemning those who defend it with weapons.

The Palestinian cause doesn't need Western icons to "correct" it from a liberal perspective or to be used as a platform for foreign agendas. Confusing symbols, such as mixing the Palestinian flag with LGBT flags or decontextualized slogans, dilutes the anti-#colonial, spiritual, and revolutionary character of the struggle.

True solidarity is not posturing or spectacle. It does not replace organized resistance nor does it present itself as a moral alternative to combat. Only those who respect the nature of the struggle—including its armed dimension, its religious identity, and its rejection of imperialism—can truly say they are on the side of Palestine.

Liberating Palestine will not be an act of cosmopolitan morality, but of organized struggle.

This is what is called an operation from zero distance. But the video, this time, is different, as it was not released by the Al-Qassam Brigades or any other group. There is no foreboding music in the background, no slick edits, no red triangles. The reason? The video was released by the Israeli army itself.

This raises many questions, including why the Israeli army would report the bravery of a Palestinian fighter and the successful blowing up of the pride and joy of the Israeli military, the #Merkava.

The answer might lie in the sense of despair in the Israeli military, an army that knows well that it has lost the war or, at best, is unable to clinch victory, even after it laid Gaza to waste and exterminated nearly 10 percent of its population (between the killed, wounded, and missing)

Last week, the #resistance forces that were supposedly vanquished from the face of the earth regrouped and began firing missiles at Israel — from Syria, of all places! On May 4, #Houthis fired a ballistic missile at Tel Aviv hitting the perimeter of the main terminal of #BenGurionAirport! Reports suggest that Hezbollah has restored its supply routes from Iran.  

What Israel fails to grasp is that resistance movements do not die their raison d’être remains. Israel is, in reality, in very deep crisis fighting on multiple fronts amidst a cascading domestic political crisis and an economy that requires drip feeding by Washington. 

As the US’s capacity to influence events in the Middle East keeps diminishing, Israel’s unviability as a nation propped by the #JewishLobby in the Beltway appears sharper in focus. Already, there is resentment within the #US about bankrolling Israel and fighting its wars.

🇱🇧Hezbollah vs. Israel: Why a New War is on the Horizon | Palestine Chronicle

Over the past week, an increase in US and Israeli reconnaissance aircraft has been noted over Lebanese territory. While Washington-based think tanks, the Western corporate media, in addition to Israeli and #US politicians, claim that Hezbollah was defeated late last year, all indications point to the opposite.

Israel’s pager attacks, followed by the assassination of #Hezbollah’s senior leadership back in September, dealt a major blow to the Lebanese group. In addition to this, security sources familiar with the matter informed the Palestine Chronicle that between 15-20 percent of the movement’s weapons were destroyed during the war that ensued.

What happened to Hezbollah late last year would have been thought to be impossible just months prior to it all unfolding. The organization’s middle command took major hits, it was clearly infiltrated in a major way by #Mossad collaborators and agents.

🇵🇸UK designates Palestine Action as 'terrorist organization'

British lawmakers voted on Wednesday to designate the #PalestineAction group as a "terrorist organization."

Palestine Action, which identifies as a direct action movement employing disruptive tactics, has repeatedly targeted UK-based companies linked to Israel, most notably the Israeli 'defense firm' Elbit Systems, which it has labeled its “main target.”

The Labour government accused the group of causing millions of pounds in damages through various actions, including at a Thales factory in 2022, an Elbit facility last year, and most recently at a Royal Air Force base in southern England, an incident that prompted the decision to proscribe the group.

The proscription would formally classify Palestine Action as a "terrorist organization" under British law, placing it on the same legal footing as groups like Islamic State and Al-Qaeda, and criminalizing membership or support.
