Stone Cold Justice: Israel’s torture of Palestinian children | ABC Australia - 2014

A film which was produced by a group of Australian journalists that sparked an international outcry against Israel after it explicitly detailed Tel Aviv's use of torture against Palestinian children.

The film, titled ‘Stone Cold Justice’ documents how Palestinian children, who have been arrested and detained by Israeli forces, are subjected to physical abuse, torture and forced into false confessions and pushed into gathering intelligence on Palestinian activists.

The 45-minute investigative film concerns the Israeli army’s mistreatment of Palestinian children. It provides absolutely devastating evidence that the children’s abuse is not some unfortunate byproduct of the
occupation but the cornerstone of Israel’s system of control and its related need to destroy the fabric of Palestinian society.

Who Profits is an independent research center dedicated to exposing
the role of the private sector in the Israeli occupation economy

Who Profits was founded in 2007 as a project of the Coalition of Women for Peace, and became an independent Research Center in 2013. Our work addresses the economy of the Israeli occupation through three areas of activity: we maintain an online database of complicit corporations; we operate a free online information center; and we publish regular reports and updates on the corporate aspect of the occupation.

Through these, we shed light on the role of the private sector in the Israeli settlement enterprise, in economic exploitation of Palestinian and Syrian land, labor and resources, and in the apparatus of control over the occupied population.

🇵🇸 Debunked: 'Gaza is not occupied' | Middle East Monitor

Throughout Israel's latest aggression on Gaza, Israeli ministers have continued to spread the lie that the besieged enclave is not occupied. The purpose of this misinformation is to further dehumanise Palestinians and justify the deadly violence against 2.2 million people, half of them children.

"Look at these people, we gave them freedom and they reward us with violence, hate and terror," that is what Israeli officials say. “Instead of turning Gaza into the Singapore of the Middle East they have turned it into a launchpad for terrorism.”

🇵🇸 Colonial Economy — How Palestinian workers are dehumanized in an apartheid system | Rabet - 2021

Rabet presents a short documentary about the condition of the Palestinian economy. We follow workers who line up each morning to work inside the Green Line, and those who choose to work in illegal settlements because the pay will be better, even though the settlements are built on land from their own community. Finally, we look at the gendered elements of work in Palestine, focusing on women in #Gaza who face a severe lack of opportunity due to Israeli movement restrictions.

This is a product of the colonial environment created by Israeli policies that limit trade, movement, and industry throughout Palestinian society. Through the help of economists and lawyers, we break down the options available to Palestinians from all sections of community

🇵🇸 Time to focus on the rights of the oppressed, not the oppressor | Ramzy Baroud - ArabNews

Since the establishment of Israel, facilitated by Britain and protected by the US and other Western countries, the priorities have been entirely Israeli. “Israeli security,” Israel’s “military edge,” its “right to defend itself” and much more have defined the West’s political discourse on the Israeli #occupation and #apartheid.

This bizarre
#US-Western understanding of the so-called conflict — that an oppressor has “rights” over the oppressed — has enabled Israel to maintain a military occupation over Palestinian territories that has lasted for more than 56 years. It has also empowered Israel to neglect the roots of this conflict, namely the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948 and the long-denied right of return for Palestinian refugees.

🇵🇸 Jenin Jenin | 2002

Directed and co-produced by Palestinian actor and director Mohamed Bakri

The story began in April 2002, when the Israeli #Occupation Forces invaded the Palestinian #refugee camp in Jenin, leveled it to the ground, killed more than seventy people and buried civilians alive in their demolished homes and smoldering buildings.

During #OperationDefensiveShield, the "#IOF" refused to allow journalists, human rights and humanitarian organizations into the camp. Jenin remained sealed for days after the invasion.

Bakri was among the first to enter the camp after the massacre and collect oral testimonies from local residents in Jenin. His Jenin Jenin came to narrate the story of the ruined camp and the #massacre's survivors.

On 23 June 2002, the film's Executive Producer, Iyad Samoudi, was killed in Alyamoun at the end of the filming by Israeli soldiers. Bakri continues to receive death threats. The war on Jenin #Jenin continues to this very day."

🇵🇸 Breaking the Silence › Publications

Breaking the Silence is an organization of veteran soldiers who have served in the Israeli military since the start of the Second Intifada and have taken it upon themselves to expose the public to the reality of everyday life in the Occupied Territories. We endeavor to stimulate public debate about the price paid for a reality in which young soldiers face a civilian population on a daily basis, and are engaged in the control of that population’s everyday life. Our work aims to bring an end to the occupation.

🇵🇸 Israeli forces on Monday morning arrested Ahed Tamimi, a Palestinian activist who was previously arrested by Israel in 2017, according to several reports.

Tamimi has often been referred to as an icon of the Palestinian resistance. She garnered widespread media attention in 2017 when she was arrested following an altercation with Israeli soldiers who refused to leave her home in Nabi Saleh, a village in the occupied West Bank.

Tamimi, who was 16 years old at the time, was sentenced to eight months in an Israeli prison as a minor, making headlines around the world.

According to journalist Dena Takruri, who co-wrote a book with
#Tamimi, the activist’s father Bassem was arrested last week as well.

🇵🇸 Spyware Firm NSO Group Uses Israel–Gaza to “Crisis-Wash” Image | The Intercept - 10/11/2023

NSO’s letter to Blinken — publicly filed as part of Paul Hastings’s obligation under the Foreign Agents Registration Act — is part of the company’s latest attempt to reinvent its image and, most importantly, a bid to reverse the blacklisting. (Neither the State Department nor Paul Hastings responded to requests for comment.)

For NSO, the blacklisting has been an existential threat. The push to reverse it, which included hiring multiple American public relations and law firms, has cost NSO $1.5 million in lobbying last year, more than the government of Israel itself spent. It focused heavily on Republican politicians, many of whom are now vocal in their support of Israel, and against a ceasefire in the brutal war being waged by the country in the Gaza Strip.

🇵🇸 Israel and its allies are repurposing the goals and lies of 1948 – in Gaza in 2023 – Jonathan Cook

Israel is openly carrying out ethnic cleansing inside Gaza, driving Palestinians outside their homeland as happened in 1948. And yet, just as during the first “#Nakba”, Israel's lies and deceptions dominate the West’s media and political narrative.

So Israel is taking advantage of this moment to “finish the job”. The final destination is clearly in view, as, in truth, it has been for more than seven decades. The crime is unfolding step by step, the pace quickening. And yet senior politicians and journalists in the West – like their predecessors – continue to be blind to it all.

🇵🇸 Self-defence in Israel and Palestine: Unsuspending Disbelief Research Society of International Law

In this short post, we focus on a distinct but interrelated question, namely whether Israel’s use of force against Gaza could be described as self-defence at all. Our answer is in the negative.

One preliminary comment is necessary: recently Marko Milanovic raised the question whether the prohibition of the use of force is applicable at all in the relationship between Gaza and Israel.

The question refers to the view that if Palestine is not a state with Gaza as part of its territory, the prohibition of the use of force would not apply to Gaza. We come to this question as critical legal scholars who do not wish to romanticise the concept of statehood in international law.

🇵🇸 Removing symbols of resilience: Israel demolishes Palestinian monuments in Jenin.

Israel has destroyed dozens of statues and monuments, which were built to honour Palestinians killed by Israeli forces.
The most famous was the sculpture of a horse in Jenin, in the Occupied West Bank.
Residents say the structure symbolised the endurance of the Palestinian people.

Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim reports from Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank

The Jenin Horse, also known by its Arabic name Al-Hissan (The Horse), was a sculpture built in 2003 by the population of Jenin, in the West Bank, along with German artist Thomas Kilpper, made with scrap metal and pieces of wrecked cars that had been destroyed during an Israeli invasion of the city.Among the components of the horse was a large panel from an ambulance.

How Israel indoctrinates its people w/Miko Peled | The Chris Hedges Report - Real News Network

To understand the genocidal campaign unfolding before our eyes, we must examine the roots of Israeli society. Israel is a settler colonial state whose existence depends on the elimination of Palestinians. Accordingly, Israel is a deeply militarized society whose citizens are raised in an environment of historical revisionism and indoctrination that whitewashes Israel's crimes while cultivating a deep-seated racism against Palestinians. Miko Peled, former IOF Special Forces and author of The General's Son: Journey of an Israeli in Palestine, joins The Chris Hedges Report for a frank conversation on the distortions of history and reality at the foundations of Israeli identity.

Golda Meir points out she was a Palestinian from 1921 to 1948, says "we asked them [the Arabs] to leave", and is upset that they didn't and don't like it. We were here before, "we've come back". Extract from longer interview with the then Israeli PM Golda Meir, full post from Thames TV here:
