Maxim Fadeyev's #film "At the Edge of the Abyss". For a fortnight he filmed the action from the inside as part of a platoon of infantry storming the city

What is striking is, of course, the optimism and tenacity of the local civilians who have faith and hope that their beloved city will soon be rebuilt.

In addition to humanitarian problems, people caught up in the protracted fighting are experiencing another, no less debilitating hardship - they cannot tell their loved ones from other towns that they are alive.There is absolutely no communication in #Mariupol, and sometimes the only way to send word to the mainland is through such appeals on camera. We hope that some of the people who watch this video will recognize their loved ones in it.

Despite the exciting success of the #film in #festivals and among journalists and audiences around the world, however, the situation here on the ground is deteriorating rapidly and the future looks bleak.

Over the past 16 months, Israeli settlers and the military have taken advantage of the atmosphere of the war to reshape reality in #MasaferYatta in favor of #settlers and their outposts, intensifying their efforts to displace us from our land. Even as I write this, the Israeli army is conducting a major demolition operation in the community of Khalet A-Daba, razing homes, toilets, solar panels, and trees.

Please share widely so as many people as possible can witness how Israel steals Palestinian land and destroys homes and lives, shown through the eyes of Basel, a Palestinian filmmaker, and Yuval, an Israeli journalist. Bafta and Oscar nominated.

While No Other Land may have accomplished portraying the horrors that Israel creates in the occupied West Bank, it overlooks how Israeli society at large sees the oppression of Palestinians not just as an "unfortunate reality" but rather as justified treatment.
