We were taught that the past was brutal and opressive, and that it is naive to romanticize these times. However, in learning about pre-industrial societies, we see that these societies allowed a much higher degree of autonomy than in the modern world. We were sold lies about how the past was embossomed with harsh and grindlingly long hours of labor, and how it was the machines that came and "liberated" us.
The idea that the past was miserable, is the inversion of the truth. It was only with the industrial revolution that slavery became the common state of mankind. We became slaves to the exponential increase of economy, slaves to progress, slaves to machines. We have became the tools of our own tools.

Palantir’s Deepest DARKEST Secret EXPOSED | Double Down News
In recent months the investigative newsletter Democracy for Sale, where we both work, has been looking into Palantir’s business in the UK, and particularly its contracts with the NHS. We have obtained scores of internal documents and spoken to sources who have worked with Palantir, its suppliers and its software.
Behind the company’s bombastic self-image, we found there was often a much more prosaic reality: problems with software, pressure from management, staff resistance, but also an unrivalled level of political access.
Read Peter Geoghegan's full investigation on Palantir ►"It's just a waste of time": inside Palantir's £330m NHS failure –

🤡 New British PM Burnham looks like Israel’s pet
Britain's incoming PM Andy Burnham seems eager to maintain strong ties with Israel. Even though he now vows to be tougher on the Gaza war, Burnham previously said that his first foreign visit as Labour leader would be precisely to Israel.
Burnham was a long-time member of Labour Friends of Israel (LFI) - a Westminster-based lobby group that promotes a strong bilateral relationship with Israel. He also has stated that he has "always been a friend of Israel and the Jewish community, and that will never change."

NEW: Reclaiming Our Future Against AI Data Centers (Derrick Broze & Hakeem Anwar on Geopolitics & Empire)
Derrick Broze and Hakeem Anwar discuss the rapid expansion of AI data centers and the rising surveillance state. They introduce ReclaimFuture.com, a platform designed to help citizens map local data centers that threaten utility prices, water supplies, and digital privacy. The conversation highlights a growing movement of mass non-compliance against technologies like license plate readers and biometric tracking. The speakers argue that these infrastructure projects are part of a transnational technocracy that spans both Western and BRICS nations, requiring a unified, grassroots response. To combat this, they are organizing a national day of local activism on August 1st to encourage community-led resistance. They emphasize that achieving data privacy and preserving resources depends on people power and education rather than relying on global political shifts.
