Foodborne nanoparticles (NPs) have drawn great attention due to human health concerns. This study reports the detection of the presence of fluorescent NPs, about 5 nm, in two of the most popular beverages, #CocaCola (#Coke) and #PepsiCola (#Pepsi).
The biodistribution study in major organs indicated that the NPs were easily accumulated in the digestive tract, and they were able to cross the blood–brain barrier and dispersed in the brain. In vitro digestion of the NPs showed a significant fluorescence quenching of the NPs. This work represents the first report of foodborne fluorescent NPs present in Coke and Pepsi, and provides valuable insights into physicochemical properties of these NPs and their toxicity characteristics both in vitro and in vivo.

🪂 🇺🇦 🤖 New Tactics in the War: Parachuting Robots Behind the Front Lines
During the recent Ukrainian offensive actions, drones, robots, and unmanned systems have been used on a massive scale. One of the revolutions: the use of large Ukrainian carrier drones called "Vampire" to parachute small ground kamikaze drones behind the lines, sometimes up to 10 km from them.
The goal? To set up ambushes, with cameras allowing for monitoring of logistical routes, particularly at night, but also to blow up the positions of drone operators and to track movements on busy paths.
These small ground drones (UGVs) are very inexpensive and can be produced in large numbers. On the Lyman front, if you look a bit at the videos from a few local Russian Telegram channels, 80% of the strikes are carried out against ground drones or "Vampire" systems, and very few against infantry. It's quite likely that slightly larger platforms, equipped with machine guns, have also been deployed to set up ambushes.
It's very clear that these platforms are the future of combat; I have a particular preference for large drones of the "Vampire" or "Baba Yaga" type, which can carry out numerous heavy missions, including resupply or precision strikes.

❗️IRGC Navy announces capture of second US military underwater drone in Hormuz
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced it had captured a second US military REMUS 600 autonomous underwater drone in the Strait of Hormuz while it was carrying out reconnaissance operations.
The statement said the drone was seized during a coordinated intelligence and electronic warfare operation and has been transferred to IRGC specialists for data recovery.
The IRGC Navy also reiterated that the Strait of Hormuz is closed, saying it will continue to act against dangerous movements and unauthorized transit through the strategic waterway.

Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of the weapons-tech company Palantir, is also a major force behind the Trump administration’s policy of pushing unhoused people toward incarceration.
Lonsdale, a longtime critic of “housing first” policy—which proposes that homelessness be solved by supplying those in need of housing with somewhere to live—argues that fining and arresting people for sleeping in public will push them into mental health treatment.
The Cicero Institute, a lobbying group he founded eight years ago, has been instrumental in passing laws criminalizing camping or sleeping in public in 16 states, according to the New York Times. In total, the think tank has worked to pass 241 pieces of legislation in the past 5 years, on issues ranging from education to healthcare. Its c4 arm, Cicero Action, has engaged in lobbying related to military spending and defense contracts, according to the National Homelessness Law Institute.
