11 Starlink Antennas Set Ablaze in Bulgaria in Suspected Sabotage Attack
Two masked men allegedly set fire to 11 of 17 antennas used for Starlink satellite communications at a restricted facility near Sofia, according to Bulgarian MP Ivaylo Mirchev.

From 2015-2022, the Saudi-led coalition conducted 25k+ air raids over Yemen, with hundreds more carried out since the July 2026 escalation.
Saudi Arabia possesses 900+ military aircraft, including 150+ F-15 and 72 Eurofighter Typhoon jets, plus AWACS, SIGINT and aerial refuelling support and US intel assistance. On paper, it’s the most powerful air force in the region after Israel’s.
But despite near-total conventional superiority, Riyadh and its allies have not been able to defeat Ansar Allah, which has no air force, nor stop the targeting of its infrastructure (such attacks have only intensified).
Just as the US and Israel discovered in Iran, their Saudi counterparts are finding out that air superiority means nothing if you can’t find, target and destroy the enemy’s hard points.
Emerging from the mountainous highlands of Saada, Ansar Allah’s home province provides fighters extensive natural and manmade cover. The region’s jagged limestone and volcanic rock formations are perfect for carving, and extremely dense and durable.
When the Saudis began their air campaign in 2015, the Houthis started engineering large-scale bases and workshops in the mountains, fitting them with thick concrete ceilings, industrial vents, blast doors and safety systems.
Yemen’s experience with fortress building goes back to the 70s, when President Saleh ordered the creation of extensive network of underground strategic command centers and Scud missile bases with East German, Soviet and North Korean engineering help.
When coalition strikes hit these sites, they temporarily block entrances, damage ventilation or cause cosmetic damage, but the bases’ inhabitants and their contents are left unharmed.
The only conceivable way Riyadh could hope to seriously degrade Houthi capabilities in this area would be to use US GBU-57 munitions. But these are only carried by B-2 bombers, and the US has as few as 6 left in its inventory after using 14 in last year’s Iran strikes.

🇺🇸 On US Elections and the Absurdity of "Pausing" of Ending US Wars Because of Them
It is incredible at this point it needs to be explained that US elections are meaningless esp. regarding foreign policy which hasn't and will not change before or after.
The idea a US war set up under Democratic presidents and a Democratic-controlled Congress and now fought under a Republican administration will somehow "pause" for midterms is so absurd, I can't even fathom the thought process taking place by those proposing this.
In fact, the Iran war technically started under the Biden administration when US-backed Israeli strikes were carried out against Iranian diplomatic missions in Syria, then on Iran itself - followed by the US-overthrow of Syria with direct war on Iran following only shortly after.
All of this has continued, uninterrupted after Trump took office (as does war on Russia and preparations for war with China), and will continue no matter which of Wall Street's representatives take office this year.

It was this exact flawed thinking that led millions of Americans and many commentators to enthusiastically anticipate the Trump administration ending multiple US wars, proxy wars and worldwide interference that has only - very predictably - expanded instead.
Understanding a problem is paramount to solving it.
If one thinks US policy is determined by electoral outcomes instead of by unelected corporate interests, focus will be placed on influencing otherwise meaningless elections only ensuring the problem persists.
This is by design to prevent corporate interests from being the focal point of public attention instead of endless election cycles and an endless supply of disposable politicians.
Western-style "democracy" is a system of control, not one of self-determination.
While electoral cycles are designed to move us emotionally - empirically they are an exercise in manipulating, not empowering us.
Understanding a problem is paramount to solving it.
If one thinks US policy is determined by electoral outcomes instead of by unelected corporate interests, focus will be placed on influencing otherwise meaningless elections only ensuring the problem persists.

Britain is sending additional Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine for strikes deep inside Russian territory, Bloomberg reports.
The supply of these cruise missiles was discussed by Prime Minister [Keir] Starmer and Zelensky during the latter’s visit to London, the article states, citing sources.
If British missiles launched from Ukrainian territory can strike Russia, then Russian missiles launched from Ukrainian territory could just as well strike Britain. Since Russia’s actions are always retaliatory, such a strike on Britain would simply be a response—or so the Russian Ministry of Defense would explain it to us later. Is this not what you in Britain want and are asking for?

The balanced and well-researched film was released in 2013, to the 20th anniversary of the "Bloody October", when most of the direct participants of the events were still alive.
In his author's project "White House, Black Smoke", NTV columnist Vladimir Chernyshyov is trying to find the true causes of what happened in October 1993. The film crew managed to collect versions of what happened from almost all participants in the events and build from this mosaic a picture of the turmoil into which society plunged after the collapse of the USSR.
Towards the end of the documentary, fragments of Yeltsin's address from October 4, 1993 are given. We published the entire text in our earlier post "The People Will Curse Yeltsin".
