Empty words were all Mustang muttered as she trotted back and forth the length of the enclosed field. Once or twice, my ears caught a sentence but no more than that. With my back to the fence, I slowly slid down to the grass and let out a deep sigh of relief which earned me a snort from my companion.
"You're not listening" She complained.
"Sorry." I answered with a tired wave of my hand. Although, my eyes were to the ground, I knew when Mustang came to stand over me. So, I peered up from under my lashes at the mass of shinny black skin in front of me. I allowed my eyes to travel up the length of her body and met her gaze. My chest tightened.
"I didn't do it..."
A series of images flashed through my mind. A girl. In a bathing suit. Water splashing.
I clasped my hands down over my head, a pathetic attempts to stop the invasion.
Mustang's lowered herself to the ground, her legs folding neatly beneath her. She continued to observe me.
The memories kept flooding back without warning and I felt my walls come apart. I was by the lake again. The sun was warm against my skin. Big brown eyes were gazing up at me. Her laughter piercing my ears.
I must have appeared dazed because Mustang nudged me with her muzzle, pulling me from my reverie.
"Do you remember what happened?" Mustang's inquired, her voice cool and even.
I shook my head in response.
She stretched out two long legs and crossed one hoof over the other. Then she said ,
"Tell me what you remember," ignoring my answer.
I clutched my chest as my heart threatened to tear out of my ribs.
More images.
I let my head my hang low and began the story as I remembered it.
"Abigail and I. She's laughing and..." My voice caught in my throat and my eyes burned with the tears.
I didn't do it.
"She kept calling me by another name. Shan—" I shut my eye lids tightly, trying to recall.
"Ashanti?" Mustang chipped in. I lifted up my face to look at her for a brief moment and returned my gaze to the earth.
"Ashanti..." I repeated slowly. It felt awfully familiar. I drew in a deep breath and carried on.
"She wanted us to go deeper into the water. Something...about being one with nature."
"So, she took my hand, and pulled me deeper. Then..."
I paused and tried to slow my breathing. Every muscle in my body was tensed. As if sensing my inner struggles, Mustang nestled her head in my lap. I was taken aback by the gesture and reached out with unsteady fingers to stroked her mane.
****
Little Ashanti's eyes fluttered open to stare at her reflection in the mirror. Dull brown eyes stared back. She picked up her stuffed animal and flung herself onto her bed. Lost in thought, She resumed stroking her animal.
"Mustang?" She called out .
"Yes, Ashanti?"
"I'm bored." She mumbled.
No response.
"Can I change the story I'm telling myself?" She said.
"I feared you never would." replied Mustang.
A smile settled on her lips. Ashanti closed her eyes and travelled far.

The Love was bright, and in those deep mysteries of a loveless lovely couple, a song was made for the young girl and young boy, how come you may say? Loveless yet lovely, the dark yet bright love? The Girl was the reason why it was dark, the boy the reason why it was loveless, the obsession they may say of a Valkyrie, the sadness of a not understandable voice of despair from a warrior.
The girl observed the boy, the boy observed the girl, and for once they clash, with clear golden eyes of the girl and despair for the boy’s heart, the girl says – Tell me, Tell me, what I must do, if for your sake I’ll be through – The boy starts to sing – Not by my lake your love I must take – But in one twisted moment the girl sings – Now, don’t worry my own love, grab my hand and become a little dove – This very song, was created by them, and they call themselves the lovely yet loveless couple, singing at the darkest of the parks, within a cloudless autumn, they smile, and they kiss, yet so graciously, yet so beautiful.
The Love was bright, out of their different kind, and once again they may smile.

The Long Wait
It was a breezy sunny afternoon. Joy had chosen a park bench near the tall jacaranda tree close to the center of the lush green park. The moderately strong breeze rustled the jacaranda branches dropping more indigo flowers to the ground than usual.
What a romantic scene? She thought to herself as she glanced at her watch. It was ten minutes past 3.00 p.m. She couldn't believe she had been waiting for the love of her life and her best friend, Mike, for twenty minutes already. It felt like ages as time seemed to drag more than usual.
Anger was starting to build up inside her, owing to the fact that she had waited three months for this day.
"Hey. I'm really sorry for making you wait so long."
A barritone voice spoke softly from behind her. She must have been so deep in thought that she didn't notice Mike walking up to the bench. She turned around and there he was, tall figure with a smile to kill, holding a bouquet of flowers out to her. Excitement took over her body as ran and tightly embraced him.
When they finally broke the long embrace, Mike brought out a speaker.
"I brought a wireless speaker. I really missed dancing to our song with you. I missed you so much."
He turned it on and slow romantic music rent the air. Another embrace followed, but this time they danced slowly to the rhythm of the music.
Joy couldn't mind the long wait, since the satisfaction she felt now seemed to have been worth it. The sun seemed to come to life and smile at them, cheering them on. More jacaranda flowers fell, but this time they had taken the shape of love hearts. If it had been up to her, she would have let that moment go on forever. At last, her love was here with her.

The night was young. Their hearts were given to each other. They felt as if the time was going so slow that they can count each star in the other one's eye.
The night started when they decided to meet each other in a covid relatable date. They connected each other on a video call. The room was setup in the following manner which was common for both. There was a table. On one side of the table was a cell phone with the front facing the other side and the front camera was on. On the other side was one of them. The table was served with dinner.
They began their online date. It was very romantic all the way. They talked about their hobbies, their jobs, their favourite aspect of each other.
After a while, they decided to do something crazy. They both agreed to break the curfew and meet in the building's lobby which was a common one for both since they were living in one building.
They reached the building's lobby and were amazed by the moment. They held each other and gazed into each other's eyes for sometime. They knew it was the perfect moment for breaking the silence.
Next thing out of nowhere, the man got on his knees and showed his will to marry her. She was breath-taken and nodded without uttering a word.
P.S- They were both diagnosed with Covid and are being vaccinated in a hospital. Please dont copy their stunts and follow all prescribed measures to keep the virus away from you.

I woke up early this morning with a spring in my step. Today is the day I have waited for ages and going to propose Navita finally. Me and Navita have been friends for ages but the problem is we both are committed but not with each other, so it is needless to say it would be wrong to go any further than friends.
Today is the day when I first met Navita in our society garden and she has been my bestie from then.
We couldn't be in a relationship if I too even tried because she was in a relationship with Piyush but whenever I meet him I always see the anger in his eyes.
Anyway I get out of bed early this morning in a good mood unlike me ,who wouldn't happy in the morning but only been a lazy scum.
Then I got up to take the shower and washed my hair and made sure I will look presentable and look like I had tried. I decided already to wear the T-shirt that was Navita's gift to me on my birthday that states "Janam se aalsi"(Lazy from birth).
And I pick up my phone to call Navita but as I was about to call her I got a text from her, it says,"Hey Ayaan, can we meet today in the society garden at 4 in evening?".
I don't know what was happening to her and why, but still I hope for the best.
So I jumped into the car and all I could think only about Navita. Then I buy a red and yellow color flowers bouquet just like she love.
I reached the garden just on right time and repeating the proposal lines to myself and I saw her coming, the love of my life.
As she came, I welcome her of my best hugs, she nuzzled into my chest and we hugged. She started to cry I felt her tears seep through my T-shirt but I don't care and bent down and cupped Navita's face with my large hand and I said,"It's OK Navi.., But tell me what happened?"
Then she explained me the whole story that how she engaged in a fight with piyush last night and he even slapped her and she also told that she don't wanna be with him not anymore.
And then she hold my hands into her and said,"OK Ayaan I must have to tell this now, , from the first day we met in this garden that place, and today is the only day I gathered enough courage to tell you today on this special day, I Navita is in deeply, madly, througly in love with you Ayaan.."
As I heard her and just looked in her wet eyes and I said "I love you more Navi.."
I lent down and I kissed her gently and finally I am with the person that I meant for.

FADE AWAY
It was the last day I could ever see her, my heart was beating hard and ears were red, It felt like my soul was about to fade away with hers. The weather was sultry, The sun had began to fade away and cool freezing winds were blowing swiftly .
Emilia and I were Good friends to be said frankly but for no reason I was in deep groan more than hers because of the departure, It was like we were never meant to be friends we were like soulmates.
She was diagnosed with cancer last week and that too on 4 th stage, the sky fell on me after I heard about it, She had to go abroad for her medcial treatments but I knew and doctors too that there was no hope over the horizon not even a single ray that hovers to save her.
It was the time to be strong I made her a call and asked if she could come to the park, she readily agreed to meet her friend. I wanted to wave a last good bye .
I reached the park about an hour before her, yhe sky had turned dark by now and stars had begin to twinkle in dim lights ,There was no artificial light in the park, but the light of full moon did scatter all around .
After an hour she reached her eyes were red and she sobbed little I could feel her groans inside me, " Are we meant to be friends " I spoke this words without even thinking what would they sound like but I hardly cared now .
She didn't utter a word , I held her head and kissed her , I wanted to absord every little detail of hers and capture it for entiquity, I thought that she will live in me, some little particles of her will be engulfed , swallowed or inhaled and will remain forever.
I rested my lips on her letting our breathes mingle breaking the chain of friendship.

The last flight from earth was passing through the upper atmosphere. I was near the window bidding my farewells to our long inhabited mother earth. We are leaving our former home after failing all attempts to redirect its axis.
It all started on May 12 at 10 am. A meteorite as huge as the moon was passing through the planet Mars. I am an astrophysicist in the Great Inter-Planetary Support Organization. We recieved intel from our Mars center about the meteorite's projectile.
I was coordinating the final attempt to blast the metorite to tiny pieces which would have vapourized on entry into Earth's orbit. We directed some laser shooters from the International Space Station towards the meteorite and was ready to shoot. When the meteorite got closer to the moon, our laser shooters started shooting at it. The meteorite was huge and all our laser missiles appeared so puny in comparison. We were failing every attempt and with each minute the meteorite got closer. It seemed there was nothing we could really do to stop it. The meteorite striked Earth in the northern region and that caused the planet to tilt its axis. We realized that meant it would make the planet head towards the sun and eventually scorch every living being on it. The final backup plan was to leave earth immediately and shift to Mars. We were already established there and ready to expand.
Today was the last flight to leave Earth with the last passengers. We were able to move the entire remaining Earth's population in a matter of weeks. The only people left to travel were the launch engineers, some astrophysicists and a few executives who oversaw the whole operation. We got into the rocket and began the countdown. After the countdown, the rocket took off and we reached earth's upper atmosphere in 15 minutes.
I was seated near a window and I was able to see our mother Earth as we were leaving it for the last time. It looked so motherly, so beautiful and so warmthful. I remembered my first flight which was to the moon to collect some geologic samples. And now, the time has come to move away.
I decided it is time to say my goodbyes. I put a hand on my heart and decided to recite Earth's national anthem which was registered in the interplanetary records.
"Earth, thy is so beautiful,
Thy shall not perish in our hearts,
Thy shall stay our first and most valuable planet,
We shall not forget you.
You taught us life,
you taught us progress,
you showed us the whole universe,
and you shall be the whole universe's mother"
As I was saying my goodbyes, my eyes got watery and my heart got heavy. It was really hard to bid my first home goodbye. To bid my first planet in my galactic journey goodbye. But alas, all things must perish.
Goodbye, mother earth. We will always be together in spirit.

A Life without soul
"Ah! My child do it briskly there is not much time left its the last one and its about to set off less than in an hour" said the man who was helping people to board there luggage .
There was barely anything left on earth now,no oceans, rivers nor oxygen .I had to sell my water to get oxygen for a day. The look of the earth was heart rending the atmosphere was tainted with red color, stroms of dust was the only thing that could be seen.
The soil was barely soil, it turned into hard red rocks and plants were like they never existed on the this planet.Even I was hurring to get into the shuttle, I knew there will be thousands who will be left abandoned to die. It was the moment when I had to think about myself than others.
"Last 10 mins to fly ", the man said .People were literally begging to take them to mars because there was nothing left here. The children were crying there hearts out and childing mothers were pushed, only stronger could survive .
Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the ship, But I knew there was nothing beyond but a life of slavery and hard bones I rather be dead and living like dead was my thought.
I was left there with million or should I say billion . We all saw the shuttle flying above us vanishing into the dusty blanket of air, the people moving in it never knew they were moving to there end, the ultimate end because there is no death on mars only a life without soul.

Title : 2081 The last flight from Earth to mars
Waking and getting up from my bed,
Shocked to see environment brown and the sky slightly red.
With tall buildings everywhere, a single tree is yet to be seen,
It feels like an awful dream as yesterday only the world was more green.
There’s some suffocation so I run back to the room,
Where the digital newspaper reads- “JAN 2041, 12 years of calamity and doom”.
The more I breathe; my heart aches and my eyes weep,
So thinking of waking up in a clean world, I go back again to sleep.
This time, opening my eyes, I run to the balcony,
The world is full of smoke, the continuous raining acid shows nature’s agony.
I am about to go unconscious before my son gives me an oxygen mask!
The usual earth bulletin shouts- “22 Jan 2061: today we start mars rehabilitation task”.
“There will be an auction and ones who will pay more will first leave the earth”,
“Additional cost, they have to pay to book their space shuttle berth”.
We destroyed the planet, extinction of humanity it seems,
I pinch myself and close my eyes. Maybe it’ll end this array of dreadful dreams.
Once more, I open my eyes but I feel exhausted; I feel so weak,
I want to say something but breathing tube doesn’t allow me to speak.
There is an announcement which says- “12 March 2081: the last flight to mars”,
“Last bits of oxygen left, the planet is succumbing because of its scars”.
“Healthy and rich have departed, elderly and poor have been left around”,
“So leftover shouldn’t panic or cry because a new hope for humanity has been found”.
At least my future generations have survived, with this reason I sigh,
It no longer feels a dream; so I close my eyes waiting to die.
But suddenly I hear something as if my mother is shouting,
Like she is pulling me out while in the sea of emotions I am drowning.
Covered with sweat, I wake up and run to see the newspaper,
Gosh! It’s 2020 only, and those dreams evaporated like vapour.
The earth is struggling, maybe the virus is one of its defence,
Something we have to do before those dreams make some sense.
Saving earth is our only hope and nothing else can protect us,
As the legends say- “If we will leave our mother, everyone will reject us”.
