The illusion
Mystery
Shadows behind the curtains
Sometimes it's all there is to it
Shadows
As hard as you may try
And try you definitely will
You won't figure the trick out
Won't?
Why, yes !
Impossible to find what does not exist
Wait for the fog to clear up
Allow the curtain to rise
It's not always a Prince cursed
to live a loveless life with a hideous face
Wipe the illusion off your glasses
Look again
It's a beast

Desire's toxic fumes consumed you,
blinded you,
made you oblivious to her pain,
rendered you deaf to the pleas of your beloved.
Unintentionally
she flaunted her curves,
teased you senseless with her caress
bathed you in her cool glow
Your love shone in your eyes
till the idea of others dancing in her light,
feeling her touch
made you howl like a crazed animal.
Which you were
Well,still are
You removed her soul
She was yours or no one else's
You plucked that pretty flower
And left it to die in your hands.
