印度國歌從旋律來說來說挺平的，基本就是 7, 1 2 3 4 5 幾個音，除了倒數第二句超出了一個八度一點兒。但出彩的是各種微分裝飾音，其複雜程度不下於中國的戲曲和古琴。。。是不是聽上去就有濃濃的咖喱味兒？

曲名 Jana Gaṇa Mana《人民的意志》，是歌詞的頭幾個詞。這首詞是泰戈爾在 1911 年發表的，1950 年被採納爲印度國歌並有了印地語版本（我上面放的視頻是印地語的）。

歌詞原文孟加拉語的一種非常梵語化（或者說是很偏文言）的形式，而且是大量的專有名詞堆砌，這些詞基本上在印度各主要語言都是相通的，因此這個歌詞用其它語言（比如印地語）唱也差不了多少。（有點兒像漢語文言的歌詞可以直接用各方言的文讀音來唱一樣。）

歌詞把印度的各大邦、山、河、海都提了一遍，比如旁遮普、信德（雖然信德基本已經都在現在巴基斯坦境內了）、古吉拉特、馬拉地、達羅毗荼、奧里薩和孟加拉，溫地亞山和喜馬拉雅山，賈木納河和恒河。“印度”是第一句和倒數第二句的"Bhārata"，是印度的自稱，“摩訶婆羅多” Mahābhārata就是“大印度”。
