On Thursday, November 27, 2025, Islamic Republic security forces raided the birthday party of Ali Shadman, an actor, and detained him along with more than 20 guests. Those arrested included Parsa Pirouzfar, Sahar Dolatshahi, Setareh Pesyani, Ahmad Selgi, Mehran Miri, Aida Panahandeh, and Nahal Dashti.

Ali Shadman and Setareh Pesyani remain in custody. According to sources, Parsa Pirouzfar suffered distress during the raid and was taken to the hospital.

Fars News Agency, which is affiliated with the IRGC, reported that during what it called a “special intelligence operation” at a “night party,” several artists were arrested, alleging that 38 liters of homemade alcohol were found at the gathering.

According to Iran International, Ali Shadman and six others are now facing charges at the Guidance Prosecutor’s Office, including violating public morality, promoting vice, consuming alcohol, and possessing alcoholic beverages. Additional cases with various charges have also been opened for the other detainees.

In September 2025, after receiving a special jury award at the “Negah” festival, Ali Shadman dedicated the prize to Hossein Mohammadi, an actor and political prisoner. Sources say this gesture put him under pressure from the Islamic Republic’s security agencies.
