A new provision slotted into France’s 2004 digital economy law declares that “access to an online social network service provided by an online platform is forbidden to minors under fifteen years of age.”

Daniel Siad, a French modeling recruiter who spent over a decade facilitating meetings between models and the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, was found dead on Monday in his home in Colombes, a suburb near Paris.

Marie-Céline Lawrysz, deputy public prosecutor at the Nanterre Judicial Court, confirmed the death to CNN in a Wednesday statement, adding that an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause.

Siad’s name features more than 2,000 times in Department of Justice (DOJ) files reviewed by CNN affiliate BFMTV, which detail tens of thousands of dollars in payments from Epstein to the recruiter for coordinating introductions and sending photographs of young women, including instances where Epstein dismissed prospective candidates as "too old."

Despite Epstein's 2008 conviction for sex crimes, industry insiders like Siad maintained robust professional networks with him, inviting the financier to fashion events and pitching business ventures. In a recent interview with CNN journalist Katie Polglase, Siad claimed he believed Epstein operated as a casting director for Victoria’s Secret and the modeling agency MC2.

An investigation by journalist Dimitri Lascarus published in February connected Siad to the Toronto-based security-technology company RISST, which reportedly marketed technologies based on Israeli patents. Lascarus found that RISST gave conflicting accounts of the nature of Siad's relationship with the company.
