#HTS-led forces are committing #massacres against unarmed #civilians in the Syrian coastal cities and the countrysides of #Damascus, #Homs, #Hama and #Latakia. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (#SOHR) documents over 100 civilian deaths so far as clashes between new government forces and ex-#SAA cells persist.

Meanwhile, Arab and western media are silent, justifying these atrocities by framing the targeting of innocents as operations against "#Assad regime remnants."

It is shameful to mention such a matter amidst the mass killing of unarmed civilians, but it is necessary to clarify what is happening:

The #massacres, executions, and barbaric killings carried out by the terrorist militia #HTS Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham have been accompanied by widespread looting and theft. I am not merely reporting news, I am speaking from firsthand experience. My relatives in #Baniyas, including engineers and doctors, have had their cars, money, and belongings stolen, and they were beaten and humiliated simply because they are Alawites. We thank God that their fate was not like that of other families.

But how do these so-called “Islamic mujahideen” and their supporters justify theft according to their so-called #Sharia? Theft, by all moral, religious, and legal standards, is a crime. Yet, they justify it under their ideology as “spoils” from their “conquest” of #Alawite villages, whom they consider “infidels.”

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we are in the 21st century, yet #Syria today is ruled by a mindset of invasions and plunder against a minority deemed “outside God’s law.” According to their interpretations, it is permissible to kill them, murder their children, steal from them, and enslave their women.

In the face of the West’s deafening silence and the inaction of human rights organizations regarding this jihadist regime that is committing documented #genocide and war crimes against unarmed civilians of all ages, we say: You will reap what you sow.

This jihadist regime continues to attract foreign extremists from all over the world, trains and graduates a new battalion every 20 days, and receives funding from #Qatar and #Saudi_Arabia, along with logistical and intelligence support from #Turkey. Why?

Are European nations truly this naïve? What benefit does the Qatari regime gain from funding this group and polishing its image by paying for its leaders to attend conferences or shake hands with the heads of international organizations?
Has the #Assad regime not already fallen? Have Iranian forces not withdrawn from Syria?

You are facing the largest terrorist organization operating at a state level, with the resources and capabilities of a state, backed by some of the world’s most prominent supporters of extremist Islamist movements (Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey). Their future plans will extend far beyond the region.

European countries have naturalized and settled tens of thousands of “Syrian Muslim” sleeper cells, most of whom share the same ideology and applaud this group’s attacks against the #Alawites.

Your sacrifice of the Alawites today will have consequences in the future.

Alawite Man Recounts Massacre: Denied Burials, Sectarian Horror, and the Cost of Disarming

An Alawite survivor recounts the horrors of the #massacres, describing how families were denied access to their deceased loved ones, while bodies were collected for mass burials. He recalls the sectarian threats and dehumanizing words spoken by militants as they carried out their atrocities.

He then reflects on the consequences of surrendering weapons after the fall of #Assad, contrasting their lack of security with that of the #Druze in #Sweida, who kept their arms and maintained control over their region.

His testimony underscores the devastation faced by unarmed communities, forced to endure systematic violence and persecution with no means of self-defense.

Institute for Political and International Studies- Feasibility of Reviving the Qatar-Syria-Turkey Gas Pipeline Project After the Fall of Bashar al-Assad | 12/2024

Reminder :

Secret cables and reports by the U.S., Saudi and Israeli intelligence agencies indicate that the moment Assad rejected the Qatari #pipeline, military and intelligence planners quickly arrived at the consensus that fomenting a Sunni uprising in Syria to overthrow the uncooperative #BasharAlAssad was a feasible path to achieving the shared objective of completing the Qatar/#Turkey gas link. In 2009, according to WikiLeaks, soon after Bashar Al Assad rejected the #Qatar #pipeline, the #CIA began funding opposition terrorist groups in #Syria.”

#Assad further enraged the Gulf’s Sunni monarchs by endorsing a Russian approved “Islamic pipeline” running from Iran’s side of the gas field through Syria and to the ports of #Lebanon. The Islamic pipeline would make Shia #Iran instead of Sunni Qatar, the principal supplier to the #EU energy market

The Genesis of Sectarian Violence in Syria - Antiwar

How did the situation get to this point?

The ongoing humanitarian crisis and severe sectarian violence in Syria are direct outcomes of policies dating back to the “Clean Break” doctrine of 1996, by a D.C. think tank which counseled Benjamin
#Netanyahu to make a “clean break” from “the previous government’s ‘peace process’.” (their quotes) which it saw as a serious weakness.

The “
#CleanBreak” approach was further advanced by #HillaryClinton, who, as Secretary of State, together with CIA Director #DavidPetraeus, proposed arming Syrian rebels.

The White House rejected the plan, but, somehow, the momentum generated to overthrow
#Assad was propelled by the #CIA, President #Obama’s 2012 presidential directive, which explicitly called for the overthrow of Syrian President #BasharAlAssad, merely authorized what was underway without his permission.

In this opinion video, Christopher Phillips, professor of international relations at Queen Mary, University of London, explores whether the #MiddleEast is truly entering a new era in the wake of Israel’s #Genocide in #Gaza.

While some argue that recent developments signal a major regional shift - from Israel’s claims of crushing #Hamas and #Hezbollah to the fall of the #Assad regime (#Syria) and the return of Donald #Trump - Phillips urges caution.

He argues that while some dynamics are changing, many of these shifts are not without precedent. Israel has tried and failed before to translate military gains into lasting regional dominance.

#Iran may be bruised, but it remains far from defeated, maintaining influence in #Iraq and #Yemen. And Trump’s support for Israel and pressure on Iran, while intense, largely mirror longstanding #US policy.

🇸🇾Trump Told Netanyahu He Can Take ‘As Much As He Wants’ From Syria | South Front

#US President Donald Trump told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a meeting in Washington earlier in April that he could “as much Syrian territory as he wanted,” Syria In Transition reported in its 23rd issue, citing sources with knowledge on the matter.

The outlet, which is produced pro bono by the London-based Conflict Mediation Solutions consultancy, didn’t provide any further details on the discussion #Trump and #Netanyahu had on Syria.

The report is not surprising considering that Trump has shown nothing but support for Israel, and Netanyahu has been working to expand his country’s influence in Syria.

Following the fall of the #Assad regime last December, the Israeli military invaded the buffer zone adjacent to the #GolanHeights in southern #Syria and established nine posts there. The military also launched hundreds of strikes against the country, destroying much of its combat capabilities.

🇸🇾 How HTS' ground strategy intersected with America, 'Israel's' project in Syria | Al Mayadeen

...As the so-called "Syrian opposition" was pumped with funding and logistical support - directly by #Turkey and thus, secondarily by the US, #UK, and “Israel", the Syrian army was withered down, in need of serious rehabilitation and support. Syrian Army members reportedly received only $40 a month, thanks to years of #US sanctions and the adverse effects of hybrid warfare.

In 2018, #Russia advised #Syria that its army needed bottom-up rehabilitation, and Damascus was faced with the challenge of needing to shore up $200 billion in reconstruction nationally. As Syria struggled with these reconstructive challenges, #Assad resorted to reconciliations and negotiations that put a defensive approach in the backseat - but the foundation enabling an easy collapse, mutiny, and takeover had been set, 6 years before #HTS’ late November 2024 invasion...

IGOR STRELKOV ON ISRAEL'S ATTACK ON IRAN

An attack on Iran has long been expected: I believe that without permission, coordination and direct support from the United States, Israel would not have done anything like this, especially on such a large scale. This is, of course, not a limited action, given the number of casualties among Iran's top military and political leadership. Iran will, of course, respond, and, in my opinion, is already responding.

In general, we have the beginning of a major Middle East war, in which Iran's position is very weak. Why weak? Because Israel has superbly prepared the field for its attack by taking a series of consistent actions. First, they "removed" the Iranian president, who supported #Syria and #Assad. The next Iranian president withdrew troops from Syria, which greatly weakened the position of the Syrian government.

Accordingly, within two weeks Syria was defeated and destroyed: most of it came under Turkish control, and a significant part under Israeli control (the strategically important Dutch Heights). Now Iran has virtually no way to reach Israel by land without entering into direct confrontation with #Turkey. And Turkey has a very strong army, and it will be very difficult for Iran to fight it.

Now Israel, naturally, using its significant superiority in missile and aircraft weapons, is striking Iran, without counting on a serious and truly painful response.

Well, if Iran takes any action, perhaps the US, which stands behind Israel, will get involved and will take advantage of the opportunity to defeat Iran.

What does this threaten us with? For us, this threatens two things. The first and most important thing is the termination of our "southern corridor", since we actively supplied oil and other raw materials to India and other countries through Iran. This was a fairly important route for us. Now we have only China left in the east as a transit route for our products.

Secondly, of course, Iran is now being attacked and, losing more and more industrial facilities, will not be able to supply us with the weapons and ammunition that it supplied before, which will also have an impact on the course of military operations in #Ukraine.
