Reports of mass killings in the Syrian coast against minorities have been nonstop for the past three days—and they’re still coming in as I write this.
I’m calling on all journalists and influencers, both Arab and Western, to push for the Syrian coast and its villages to be declared a disaster zone.
The international community must put pressure on the jihadist government in #Damascus to withdraw its forces completely—even the so-called General Security is taking part in these massacres. Humanitarian organizations need to step in immediately to save what’s left of these families.
Right now, Jihadist militants from the de facto jihadist government are still raiding villages, executing unarmed civilians, bombing and burning homes, desecrating bodies, and terrorizing entire minority communities.
People are literally trapped. They have no food, no way to leave. Since the fall of the previous government, thousands have lost their jobs. And now, for three straight days, residents in many villages have been completely forbidden from stepping outside—even to bury their dead. Eyewitnesses and local sources report that jihadist forces are either burning bodies or dumping them in secret mass graves.
The Islamist jihadist regime that seized power in Damascus is carrying out a full-scale genocide against defenseless civilians from minority groups.
I urge anyone with a conscience to do whatever they can to stop this. What’s happening right now is unlike anything we’ve seen in modern history.
