4. Should Syria ever face a partition scenario, the Syrian coast would become a contested area among various countries vying for control (#Turkey-#Qatar, #Israel, #Russia, etc.).
By the way, yesterday, in a recent development, an Israeli official in the delegation accompanying Netanyahu to Hungary stated, "We will not allow the Turks to establish a presence in western Syria (the Syrian coast)."

The new Syrian Government led by Ahmed al-Sharaa, at minimum, facilitated the murder of tens of thousands of Syrian civilians; at worst the army that serves al-Sharaa’s government has willfully participated in this genocidal slaughter. Mostly civilians of Alawite or Christian sects have been brutally murdered in their homes and on the streets of their villages.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Military Buildup by Ministry of Defense Factions Along the Lebanese-Syrian Border, from Safita in Rural Tartous to Rural Damascus
Military movements and troop buildups by Syrian forces continue along the border strip with Lebanon, amid ongoing reinforcements across a number of border and strategic areas, against a backdrop of military redeployment and the insertion of fighters of various nationalities since the start of this year.
According to Syrian Observatory sources, the buildups have been concentrated at several points in western rural Homs, particularly in the villages of Al-Nazariyah, Hawik, and Al-Fadiliyah in the Al-Qusayr district, located near the Lebanese border with the Hermel and Akkar regions, as well as in the Talkalakh area and surrounding villages along the Lebanese border.
The military movements have also extended to other areas along the border strip, including the village of Tel Wa’aw and the village of Al-Dukaykah in rural Safita in Tartus Governorate, along with reinforcements and deployments in the Zabadani Plain and Madaya in western rural #Damascus, and the Qalamoun highlands stretching between Al-Nabk, Yabrud, Qara, Flita, and Al-Jarajir, reaching all the way to the border areas opposite Lebanon’s Baalbek-Hermel region.
In the same context, Observatory sources reported notable military activity in areas facing the northern Lebanese border, including the vicinity of the village of Al-Hissa in the #Akkar district, near Qleiat Airport, which borders Syrian territory in rural #Tartous.
In parallel with these movements, Observatory sources confirmed that Syrian forces have been withdrawing and transferring heavy weapons and military vehicles from areas in eastern rural #Aleppo, including Manbij, Ain al-Arab (Kobani), Tishrin Dam, Qara Qozak Bridge, and Maskanah, toward areas in rural #Homs along the Lebanese border, a move that points to a significant reinforcement of military capabilities and deployments along the entire border stretch.
