❗️Goldman Sachs warns oil could surge past $110 as Persian Gulf exports collapse

Goldman Sachs says the physical oil market is tightening as renewed attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz reverse an earlier recovery in Persian Gulf flows, pushing Brent back into the mid-$80s and skewing price risks to the upside.

Gulf exports had recovered to more than 80 percent of pre-war levels after an Iran–US memorandum of understanding, but fell back below 50 percent, around 11 million barrels per day, following the renewed attacks, leaving the market short 13.4 million barrels per day.

Goldman cited further potential attacks on tankers and energy infrastructure as the main downside risk, estimating that a reinstated US blockade of Iranian ports could cut Iranian exports by 1.5–2 million barrels per day.

The bank kept its Brent forecast at $80 per barrel for the fourth quarter of 2026 and $75 for 2027, but said Brent could overshoot $110 if the Gulf export recovery keeps stalling, or fall into the $60s if production beats expectations.

Thaer Shouli never imagined that reaching his home would one day become a dangerous journey, or that the life he had built would survive only in memory.

Until two years ago, Thaer lived in Khirbet Tana, east of Nablus, alongside around 40 other families. Then illegal Israeli #settlers, backed by the #occupation army, launched a relentless campaign to drive them from their land.

Homes were demolished nearly 13 times. Families rebuilt them, only to watch them destroyed again. Even the centuries-old caves that had sheltered generations of Palestinians were eventually bulldozed.

For Palestinians, these #demolitions are not simply acts of #CollectivePunishment or intimidation. They are part of a broader strategy to reshape the geography of the occupied #WestBank by emptying strategically located Palestinian communities and making way for the expansion of illegal Jewish settlements.

The war against Telegram has begun.

This Monday, all t.me links on Telegram were blocked under a completely flimsy pretext:

Due to a Telegram channel called 1VPNS, a VPN service banned/sanctioned in the US because it was associated with ransomware gangs.

And because they had a Telegram channel, the entire t.me domain was blocked, affecting nearly a billion users. 🙄

If 1VPNS had a Facebook page, would they block all of www.facebook.com as well?

Officially, the freeze is due to the U.S. Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) banning all of 1VPNS's assets and websites.
The manager of the .me domain (located in Montenegro but operated by Identity Digital) chose not to contact Telegram and blocked everything on t.me (placing it on serverHold), stating that they had no control over the 1VPNS address, only the t.me domain.

But let's be honest, we all know it's because they need to attack @durov.

Independent journalists and activists are coming together to launch a National Day of Action Against Data Centers on Saturday August 1st, focused on protests, rallies, marches, teach in's and educational events around the rapid build out of hyperscale AI data centers.

ROF aims to build a non-partisan, non-violent alliance of activists, advocates, independent media outlets, individuals, influencers, and organizations who are ready to hit the streets and raise our voices. We believe it's time to collectively take a stand against the rapid acceleration in data center development.

"While some movements are focused on exclusively speaking to Conservatives or Liberals, we are willing to work with left, right, center, and politically homeless Americans who feel betrayed by both parties, " co-founder and independent journalist Derrick Broze said. "We are a non-violent, nonpartisan movement that opposes the expansion of data centers because of the threats to the environment and wildlife, the expansion of surveillance, and in the interest of a human-centered future."

We stand for a future and a world where the health of humanity, the environment, and wildlife takes precedence over the unchecked expansion of hyperscale AI-focused data centers. 

We stand firmly against hyperscale data centers and AI tools which will disempower humanity, cause further destruction to the natural world, and increase the ability for state and corporate surveillance.

We demand local officials implement a moratorium on the construction of new data centers until adequate protections for the people, the environment, and wildlife are put in place. These protections could include but are not limited to local ordinances establishing noise limits, water protections, and specific zoning for data centers. 

We are also demanding transparency from governments and corporate firms building the data centers with annual reports on air pollution, water consumption, etc.
