The highest court in the EU demands effective protection of European data from mass surveillance in the USA.
The European Court of Justice does not consider the level of data protection in the US to be equivalent to that in the European Union. That is why the court declared a decision by the EU Commission on the transfer of personal data of Europeans* to the USA, known as Privacy Shield, illegal today, Thursday.

At the Bulletproof Hoster on the Moselle, the C&C servers of the Mirai botnet were hosted among other things.
Today, Monday, the trial against the wire-pullers of the Darknet data center Cyberbunker was opened at the 1st Great Youth Chamber of the Regional Court of Trier. Four Dutchmen, three Germans and one Bulgarian are accused of having helped to make possible almost 250,000 criminal acts as operators of this so-called bulletproof host. The trial is the first of its kind in German criminal history in which the operators of a hosting service are also prosecuted for the crimes of their customers.
The public prosecutor's office accuses the defendants of forming a criminal organization that existed solely for the purpose of profiting from the crimes of other criminals. The accused are thus theoretically threatened with a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison, two of whom were full or partial adolescents at the time of the crimes and can therefore expect a milder sentence.

A court has ordered Telegram to block access to pirated movies, TV shows and music following a lawsuit filed in Israel. Local anti-piracy group ZIRA complained that the messaging platform does not properly respond to takedown notices, contrary to Telegram's claims that it does. Telegram is now working with rightsholders to implement the injunction.
Last November, the RIAA and MPAA nominated popular messenger app Telegram for inclusion on the USTR’s ‘notorious markets’ list, claiming that the platform doesn’t do enough to combat piracy.
A month later, the EU added the service to its own ‘Counterfeit and Piracy Watch List’, noting that along with other social media platforms, Telegram “lags behind” in respect of efforts to combat piracy.
This opinion is shared by Israel-based anti-piracy group ZIRA. Last year, ZIRA – which represents local media companies – took its complaints to court, hoping to force Telegram to take a more serious approach to infringement mitigation.

The components, made by the #US-based #LockheedMartin, are stored at a warehouse in the #Netherlands and then shipped to #Israel and other countries.
