🇫🇷 France to Vaccinate Nearly 1 Million More Cattle as Farmer Blockades Spread Over Herd Culls
The #agriculture minister said nearly one million additional bovines will be vaccinated in the South‑West, on top of roughly one million already immunized since July.
Mandatory #vaccination zones were expanded to Aude, Haute‑Garonne, Gers, Pyrénées‑Atlantiques and Landes, with cattle movements out of these areas limited to slaughter.
Farmer actions multiplied nationwide, with the Interior Ministry counting 43 operations and about 2,000 participants, including prolonged closures on the A64 and other roads.
Authorities report about 110 outbreaks identified to date across several departments, with most earlier clusters declared resolved.
Unions are split as the Confédération paysanne and Coordination rurale seek broader vaccination and selectiv culls,while FNSEA and Jeunes Agriculteurs back full depopulation to protect trade; the Occitanie region announced €300,000 in emergency
