They knew exactly who Mona Khalil was.
They knew the bright orange house in Mansouri, south Lebanon. They knew it was not a military site, not a command center, not a battlefield position. It was one of the most recognizable symbols of environmental conservation on Lebanon's southern coast; a sanctuary dedicated to protecting endangered sea turtles and preserving life.
Mona spent her years defending the most vulnerable creatures of the Mediterranean, teaching generations that every life matters, that nature is not a casualty to be discarded, and that humanity has a duty to protect what cannot protect itself.
Yet the same orange house that stood as a beacon of conservation became a target for terrorist Israel.
This was an assault on a woman whose life's work was devoted to safeguarding life itself. A woman known internationally for her environmental activism, whose name had become synonymous with the protection of Lebanon's coastline and its endangered sea turtles.
The murder of Mona Khalil sends a chilling message: even those whose only weapon is compassion, whose only mission is preservation, are not spared.

🇫🇷 | French journalist Erik Tegnér has been sentenced to six months in prison, suspended, and fined €30,000 after publishing an article about lawyers specializing in defending undocumented immigrants against deportation.
In the article, Tegnér named several lawyers working in the field of immigration, specifying the city where they practice. He argued that these professionals profit from a "lucrative business" financed through public legal aid.
The court determined that, while the veracity of the published information was not in question, the accusatory tone of the article exposed the lawyers to an indirect risk of harm and violated the so-called anti-doxing law passed in France after the murder of Samuel Paty.
For his part, Tegnér has called the sentence a "political use" of the Samuel Paty law.

A judge in Brazil has sentenced a mother and father to prison for 50 days because they homeschool their children, accusing them of "intellectual neglect" and failing to teach them "tolerance and diversity."
The judge, despite being advised by the prosecutor in the case to acquit the family, convicted and sentenced them, making the Denardis the first to be criminally sentenced for homeschooling children.

Igor Strelkov on Zelensky's threats against Belarus
Zelensky threatens to strike at Belarus. He claims that along the borders with Ukraine, there is equipment on towers that corrects Russian strikes on Ukraine, and he gives a week to withdraw it. Zelensky also called on Lukashenko to stop supplying fuel to the Russian army.
Zelensky's threats against #Belarus are quite substantive and have serious grounds. It's no secret that, of course, Belarus is a window through which we receive a certain amount of sanctioned goods, which are extremely important for us. And now, against the backdrop of the fact that our refineries are being destroyed one by one by enemy drones, Belarusian refineries are of particular value to us, as they continue to peacefully (for now!) process oil products, fuel, and other products. And, of course, without a unified air defense system with Belarus, it will be harder for us to repel enemy drone and missile attacks.
And in the end, losing Belarus, we will completely lose at least a visible connection with the Kaliningrad region. Accordingly, our strategic position on the Western front will deteriorate. And we can already talk about the front, because the enemy is not hiding it, and in this case, a united Europe, without hiding it, is preparing for war against us in the thirtieth year, presumably hoping that we will collapse before that, and they will only have to occupy, not fight.
Therefore, yes, the fact that Ukraine can strike at Belarusian territory (especially since they can expect that there will be no adequate response to this strike, at least they can assume this) - seems to me very likely. First of all, of course, again, about the Belarusian refinery. Frankly, I've forgotten where it's located now, one of the largest refineries in the Union, a huge enterprise, which also works for Russia. And, of course, they can strike at repeaters, military bases, they can strike at everything.
The only question is whether Belarus will be able to respond to them or will all this remain just talk at the level of "drawing red lines" by our top state officials.
In any case, I once again emphasize that Belarus will sooner or later be involved in this war. In what capacity, on which side - it's not entirely clear yet, but it will not be able to avoid the general fate of Russia.

🇪🇸 Spanish PM’s Wife Begoña Gómez Ordered to Stand Trial on Corruption Charges
:.
A Madrid judge ruled on June 20, that Begoña Gómez, wife of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, will stand trial on charges of corruption, influence peddling, embezzlement, and misappropriation of public funds. The decision follows a two-year investigation launched after complaints from anti-corruption groups.
Gómez has been banned from leaving the country, must surrender her passport, and is required to appear in court every 15 days until the trial. She faces up to 24 years in prison if convicted. Sánchez’s allies call it politically motivated persecution while opponents see it as accountability for alleged abuse of power.

🇮🇷 🇺🇸 MoU terms get worse: Iran's own frozen funds to be recycled back into the US economy and also tether US and Gulf investors into the Iranian economy via investments
The $300 billion is not general reparations for the death and destruction caused by the Zionists and Americans — it rather is conditional. The same goes for Iran's own frozen funds. All of these will be recycled back into the US economy as Iran will only be allowed to purchase US goods and this money will only be given to investors from the US and GCC countries, creating an internal imperial leverage within the Iranian economy.
Full article: https://open.substack.com/pub/exenophontos/p/the-300-billion-trojan-horse-the
This is a huge blunder on the part of the diplomats.
However, it not surprising as the reformists are not only ideologically and culturally aligned with America and the west — with their adherence to liberalism, individualism, and western cultural norms in both their own personal lives and what they have slowly imported into Iranian society over the decades — but are economically entrenched too.
The majority of presidential administrations have been liberal-leaning, especially in the economy with a preference for neoliberal models crafted by people with PhDs from western universities who got brainwashed to think that usury is "just how the economy works" thanks to many university textbooks being written by former Federal Reserve chairman Ben Shalom Bernanke (yes, that is his full name).
These neoliberal technocrats have, since the Rafsanjani era, implemented neoliberalism and dollarization. Rather than trading with China and other countries directly through the Yuan or other currencies, Iran deals exclusively with dollars, relying on trading houses in Dubai and other third countries. This illogical reliance on the dollar — for a country which cannot even access or use dollars directly due to sanctions and SWIFT bans — has amplified and worsened the effects of crippling western sanctions.
Those oligarchs in Iran whose wealth is tied to the US dollar would certainly not see a problem with recycling Iran's own sovereign wealth back into the US economy because their wealth is tied up in dollars. They also wouldn't mind if American companies came in and became embedded into the Iranian economy, as not only would they benefit financially but due to their mental colonialism and infatuation with the US, they could get all the brand name products they want.
This will also take a toll on Iranian domestic manufacturing, leading Iran to become an import-dependent nation much like Lebanon, which will worsen the economic situation in Iran.
What kind of consumer goods will flood the Iranian market? So-called "food" products which contain harmful, unhealthy ingredients which are illegal in most countries of the world? McDonald's and Pizza Hut chains (after all, a reformist newspaper did label President Pezeshkian as the "Iranian Gorbachev" — apparently they never heard about all the Russian children turning to prostitution in the 1990s to escape crippling poverty thanks to Gorbachev's treason)? Tesla cars to enrich the obnoxious Zionist Elon Musk?
The US could then threaten to freeze its investments at will, using it as a form of leverage and soft power against Iran.
The irony? Reformists and defenders of domestic neoliberal economic policies never look in the mirror and accept responsibility for the self-inflicted economic problems that their liberalism and dollarization created. They always find a way to blame Islam and the Leader, using economic pressure to convince people that leaving hijab will make dollars fall from the sky and magically float into their pockets.
The silver lining is in a verse from the Holy Qur'an where Allah says that the enemies of humanity are not a united front as we may think they are. "You suppose them to be united, but their hearts are divided," Allah says in Sura 59, Aya 14. It seems like this MoU won't stand so it will fall apart eventually and thus American investments into Iran, and Iran's own sovereign wealth being recycled back into the economy of the killers of Minab schoolchildren, may not take place at all due to the arrogance of the enemy and the splits among its factions on which direction to take to achieve the same goal.
