Israel's far-right Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, has launched a campaign to demolish structures and expel Palestinians from βArea Bβ of the West Bank.
Smotrich, who heads a pro-settler party and is himself a settler, accused the Palestinian Authority of investing significant resources to create territorial contiguity in the region, which he claims threatens Israeli control and causes environmental damage.
Under the 1993 #OsloAccords, it was agreed that the area Smotrich is referring to would be controlled by the Palestinian Authority (#PA).
