The whistleblower, Nadia Beller, is a Bolivian journalist who was almost killed by hitmen hired by Fernando Cerimedo, a far-right Argentine operative linked to the US government. Cerimedo was photographed with Donald Trump Jr. and the #Bolsonaro family, and received an award at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort months before he was arrested for the failed assassination attempt against Beller, his pregnant ex-girlfriend.
