Saudi Arabia and Argentina are interested in joining BRICS
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Saudi Arabia and Argentina were interested in joining the BRICS format. The organisation currently includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
"There is interest from our Saudi friends and Argentina, which has declared through its Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero its desire to become a full member of BRICS," he said in an interview with RT Arabic.
The next summit of the five countries is currently being prepared. The Russian foreign minister added that many countries in the Arab world have expressed interest in partnering with the SCO. He described such prospects as processes of building constructive and positive alliances - "not antagonistic".
