It's an opensource alternative to Gapps. it replaces Google Play Services and prevents Google from getting most of your precious data.
Some apps will crash or complain if you lack some gapps components as MicroG is a WIP. Deal with it.

Yes. For purchases use a modified playstore from the many MicroG installers.
🍭 But I get Error RH-01 in Playstore
Try this:
- Wipe play data and log out of all google accounts
- Login through settings
- Wait
Now check PlayStore. Sometimes PlayStore takes time to recognise the account. If error isn't solved, you can keep force closing the app, clearing its data, rebooting, go walk the dog, or use the other alternatives to PlayStore.

Some people claim it does work if you wipe it and give all permissions to it.
You can still use gmail from other email apps or web browser.

No. Not every game requires it, some just show a notification, but for the problematic ones, you can try to backup and restore those games from a Gapps device with Titanium backup or OandbackupX.
