🇵🇸Palestine Action activists sentenced as terrorists | Middle East Eye
A British judge has sentenced four #PalestineAction protesters as terrorists, handing them custodial sentences ranging from four to eight years.
The unprecedented ruling came despite jurors convicting them of criminal charges not connected to terrorism during the prosecution.
Last month, jurors convicted Leona Kamio, Samuel Corner, Fatema Rajwani, and Charlotte Head of criminal damage in connection with a raid on an #Elbit Systems #UK plant near Bristol on 6 August 2024.
Two other activists, Jordan Devlin and Zoe Rogers, were cleared of the charges.
Elbit Systems is an Israeli arms manufacturer whose UK headquarters are based in Bristol.

The Palestinian Authority's war(#PA) on the resistance is the continuation of a #collaboration with colonialism that Palestinian elites have practised for more than a century
Amid the ongoing Israeli genocide in #Gaza and its terror in the #WestBank and #Lebanon, the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance must confront not only their Israeli enemy, but also their own elites who are collaborating with that enemy
The historical reaction to colonial conquest and imperial control across much of the world has been threefold.
First, radical #resistance by the majority of poor peasants and workers, and by a substantial sector of the urban middle class
Second, cooperation and compromise by much of the wealthy elite and some sectors of the middle class, justified by the belief that such cooperation would lead to colonial concessions and avert an outright confrontation in which the colonised would surely be the losers

NSO spyware firm founded in Israel has been targeting Whatsapp users in Jordan and Lebanon with malicious links, despite a US court order forbidding it from doing so, according to Meta.
Meta said earlier this week that it had caught and disrupted “spear phishing attempts” by NSO Group on Whatsapp, which had targeted a handful of users in Jordan and Lebanon.
The tech giant said it also caught the spyware firm creating “test accounts and groups” on Whatsapp.
NSO Group was founded in Israel and built the infamous Pegasus software, which was able to infiltrate Whatsapp users and harvest their messages, photos, calls and other data.
The company has been under US ownership since last year.
In 2025, NSO Group lost a court case against Meta over its targeting of Whatsapp users, and was ordered to pay the tech giant $167m. That was later reduced to just $4m, however NSO Group was permanently barred from targeting Whatsapp and its users.@MiddleEastEye_TG

UAE Will Pay Iran Billions To Halt Attacks
The United Arab Emirates has agreed to unlock billions of dollars for Iran, Reuters reported on June 12, citing four sources with knowledge on the matter.
The development came as a deal between the U.S. and Iran to end war is reported to be just a few days away, with reports suggesting that the agreement could involve the release of tens of billions of dollars in Iranian oil revenues frozen in foreign banks under American sanctions.
Two regional sources told Reuters the UAE has agreed to release a total of $10 billion, more than $3 billion of which had already been delivered.
Meanwhile, two other sources put the total funds involved at $20 billion, adding that the move had been agreed in return for a halt to Iranian attacks on the UAE. One of the sources also said a first tranche of $3 billion had already been made available.

“In the early hours of this morning, I ordered our armed forces to intercept a shadow fleet tanker that was attempting to pass through the English Channel.
This successful operation has dealt another blow to Russia,” Starmer said.

The #US military has begun constructing a “huge base” on the #Gaza envelope to implement US President Donald Trump’s plan to “take over” the strip, Israel Hayom reported on 13 June.
The US base, being built near the Israeli military base at Reim settlement, will function as both a military and civilian headquarters for the organizations and forces arriving in the area to implement the Trump plan.
In February 2025, Trump proposed a US “takeover” of the Gaza Strip.
The plan called for the forced displacement of approximately two million Palestinians to neighboring lands and redeveloping the territory as a high-tech business and tourism hub that Trump said would become the “Riviera of the Middle East.”
