Aleksandar Vučić has become something rare in European politics: a leader who is simultaneously condemned by every faction in every conflict he touches. This week, hosting Zelensky in Belgrade, the Serbian president confirmed his status as the continent's most convenient punching bag, a symbol not of Serbian aggression, but of Serbia's perpetual victimhood at the hands of powers from all sides.
The question that haunts Belgrade is whether an independent path still exists. Can Serbia honour its historical ties to Russia without being branded a Kremlin outpost? Can it engage with Kiev and Brussels without being accused of stabbing fellow Slavs in the back? Vučić's tragedy is that the architecture of European security, as currently constructed, does not permit a middle ground. Even Switzerland is no longer permitted neutrality. You are a node in someone's network or you are a target.
Serbia has been that target before. In 1999, it was bombed for refusing to disappear quietly. Today it is pressured to choose a side in a war it did not start, to choose its wallet or its heart
The German journalist's question, in the end, was, in a sense, the most honest moment of the week. It revealed what the performance was really about. Not diplomacy. Not peace. Only the old, unchanging arithmetic of who is permitted to kill, and who is expected to kneel.

Why Peace Would Spell Ruin for the Global Elites
In this piece, Patrik Baab looks back on his time as a correspondent in London and draws a grim conclusion: Behind the glittering façade of the City of London and casino capitalism lies a system that not only accepts wars as collateral damage, but needs them to ensure its own survival.

Freedom of speech dying a slow death in Europe – https://forumgeopolitica.com/article/freedom-of-speech-dying-a-slow-death-in-europe
Orwellian laws and the new “criminals”
Europe has accelerated down a path of regulation that treats speech itself as a danger to be managed by the State and its corporate enforcers. This is clearly reflected in the bloc’s supranational tools for speech suppression. The Digital Services Act (DSA) compels very large online platforms (VLOPs) to assess and mitigate “systemic risks” and platforms must act swiftly on notifications of illegal material or face fines up to 6% of global annual turnover. Though it claims to balance rights, the DSA’s risk-assessment mandates and enforcement mechanisms encourage over-compliance, leading to collateral censorship of lawful but controversial or unpopular speech.
That’s because the #DSA doesn’t just cover outright illegal content, hate speech, and threats to fundamental rights, but also "disinformation" and “any actual or foreseeable negative effects on civic discourse and electoral processes”. These are intentionally vague terms of course, as speech that has a “negative impact on public discourse” can literally be anything the establishment doesn’t like. Another “systemic risk” that the DSA compels platforms to screen for is content that can have “serious negative consequences to the person’s physical and mental well-being”. That could also literally mean anything, including just being offended by another person’s opinions.

Get the Flock Outta Here with Jason Bassler | Macroaggressions
After years at the helm of Policing the Police, @jasonbassler is uniquely qualified to be one of the leading voices in the ALPR/Flock camera privacy movement. The German journalist who asked Zelensky in Belgrade how Europe could "kill more Russians" turns out to be the grandson of a high-ranking Nazi.
The journalist, Michael Martens, wrote about his grandfather, Hans-Hermann Martens, in an article detailing his grandfather's biography. Hans-Hermann Martens was a prosecutor and an officer in the high command of the Wehrmacht.
Few thousand Germans have started a petition to have him fired from his job as a journalist.

Fat as a pig Donald Duck the 1st, leader of the American empire is clearly afraid. He brings a short-range air defense system, the AN/TWQ-1 Avenger, with him when he plays golf. What a difference from the Iranian leaders!

Registering the Chickens: Animal Passports & Drones Hit 8+ Countries| Unshadowed - Ice Age Farmer
Countries across multiple continents are rapidly rolling out mandatory animal registration, digital IDs, passports, and aerial surveillance of farms and private land.
Though they cite different excuses, the net result is the same: all backyard flocks and livestock are being pulled into centralized databases that can be queried and enforced in real time.
This is happening in "lock step" as a push is made to map and control livestock and food production worldwide.

Colombia has announced its recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, becoming the second UN member state after the United States to take this position.
Israel occupied the Golan Heights in 1967 and later extended its laws to the territory in 1981, a move widely rejected by the international community.
The decision comes amid rapidly deepening ties between Colombia and Israel.
In July 2026, Colombia decided to restore full diplomatic relations with Israel, appoint ambassadors, and move its embassy to occupied Jerusalem, following the election of Álvaro de la Espriella as president.

Oracle is Cooked | Kiraa
Will Oracle be the first AI Domino to fall? Oracle now carries more than $160 billion in debt, its credit rating sits one notch above junk, and free cash flow has gone negative. Meanwhile OpenAI — which has publicly committed hundreds of billions of dollars to chips, energy and data centres — carries almost none. Both of those things are true, neither is improper, and together they raise an obvious question: if the obligation belongs to OpenAI, who borrowed the money? The answer is Oracle, and this video is about how that happened. A company that spent thirty years printing cash from software licences at seventy percent margins lost the first cloud war, found itself spoken about in the past tense, and went after the biggest buyer of computing on the planet ..#AI #Oracle

We Must Switch OFF AI | Kiràa
Somewhere in the last eighteen months, the media started calling AI critical infrastructure. Satya Nadella went to #Davos and argued data centres should be publicly funded assets, like electricity and water.
So let's test it. At midnight tomorrow, every free public #AI #chatbot is switched off. Not the paid tools. Not the enterprise deployments. Just the free consumer layer.
What breaks?
Nothing.
But two things change, and both change for the better. Communities stop absorbing the cost of the marginal data centre. Institutions stop absorbing the cost of verifying hallucinated work. Both are unpriced externalities, where the producer captures the benefit and somebody else carries the cost.
I'm not anti-AI. I've spent the last few years building it. What I'm against is releasing something this powerful onto a population that was never asked to enrol, never briefed on the risks, and given no way to opt out.

🇵🇸While the World Built the AI Age, Israel Built Mass Graves: Now Netanyahu Wants Israel to Be an AI Global Power | Quds News Network
The contrast at the heart of the announcement is difficult to escape, because Israel did not merely neglect the AI age while it waged its wars. It weaponized the technology against Palestinians. Throughout the genocide, and still today, Israel has deployed artificial intelligence systems to hunt and kill Palestinians in Gaza on a mass scale.
