The Nakba: All you need to know explained in five maps and charts | Middle East Eyehttps://www.middleeasteye.net/news/israel-palestine-nakba-ethnic-cleansing-explained-five-maps-charts

The 1948 forced expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland has created the longest unresolved refugee crisis in modern history

Every year on 15 May Palestinians mark the Nakba, "catastrophe" in English, when around 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homes by Zionist militias to make way for the creation of Israel in 1948.

Project INVICTUS: Inside the UK's Human Rights Busting Campaign to Spy on RefugeesMint Press

The “full potential” could, Prevail declared, only be harnessed via a “GDPR exemption of some kind, as it is indiscriminate, passive collection against the general population.” By collecting targets’ Media Access Control (MAC) addresses, the company would be able to follow a “breadcrumb trail” of residual data they left while traveling through North West Europe.

This was achievable by conducting a “war drive” along those routes – identifying every vulnerable wireless network in these areas using a moving vehicle.
Prevail noted such activity “would breach current permissions.” Indeed, the entire conspiracy constitutes an extraordinary infringement of British and European data protection standards and laws

Dispelling the myths about Palestinian refugees — in Jenin and beyond – 972mag - July 2023

The Israeli army’s latest invasion and bombardment of Jenin refugee camp was accompanied by typical hasbara — Israeli propaganda — seeking to justify the illegal occupation as a necessary response to terrorism. It has also sparked another round of bad-faith arguments about the Jenin camp’s very existence, with a spike in social media rhetoric asking why there are refugee camps in the occupied West Bank.

The undermining of Palestinians’ refugee status and rights goes hand-in-hand with the denial of the Nakba (“catastrophe”), the uprooting and expulsion of around three-quarters of the Palestinian population in 1948, at the hands of Zionist militias and the new Israeli state.

Denying the Nakba makes it possible to depict Israel’s establishment as liberatory and benign, while propagating myths about Palestinian refugees enables Israeli settler colonialism to continue today.

🇵🇸 Israeli army has told Palestinians in north Gaza to move south as offensive intensifies

Tens of thousands of Palestinians desperate to escape the attacks have fled to southern Gaza.
But towns in the south aren't safe either. Israel has targeted Khan Younis repeatedly in recent hours, killing at least four people on Thursday morning.
The UN says more than 70 percent of Gaza's population has been displaced since October the 7th.

Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reports from Khan Younis, Gaza for the latest updates.

🇵🇸 'It's Bisan from Gaza and I'm Escaping South' | AJ+

Journalist Bisan Owda documented her journey from al-Shifa Hospital to southern Gaza as she tried to find a new place to shelter. Along her journey, she spokewith elderly people on the road, injured children and a doctor about diseases. Israel has ordered an evacuation to the south, but has continued bombing there. The UN says nearly all of Gaza is on the verge of starvation.

On top of starvation, heavy rains, cold temperatures and potential flooding are putting Gazans more at risk of infectious disease.

🇵🇸It’s Bisan From Gaza, And Israel Made All These People Homeless’ | Voices from Gaza - AJ+

Palestinian families returned to their homes, many of which have been reduced to rubble. More than 60% of homes in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed and thousands of people are missing under the rubble.

Bisan Owda, a video journalist in Gaza, followed families in the southern town of Khuza’a as they search for remains of their lives under the rubble. Residents of the town are determined to rebuild their homes after surviving previous Israeli airstrikes in 2014 and in 2021.

This video was filmed during the 7 day temporary ceasefire in Gaza.

🇵🇸 Israel pushes Gaza's terrified residents from one refuge to another | by Maha Hussaini for Middle East Eye –

With mattresses tied to the roof of their car, Aya Fehmi and her family returned to their first house of refuge in the central Gaza Strip.

They had evacuated it for another place of refuge in the south during the fourth week of Israel's ferocious assault on the Gaza Strip. But, following the end of the pause in fighting on Friday, the Israeli military dropped leaflets in the area of this second refuge, warning people it was to become a "fighting zone" and ordering them to leave.

"We left our home on the sixth day of the attack after we received messages [from the Israeli military] saying that our neighbourhoods would be targeted. We moved to a relative's home in Deir al-Balah and stayed there for three weeks," Fehmi, a 34-year-old mother of three boys, told Middle East Eye.

It’s just sand and empty places. They will not kill us. We’ll die here because of hunger.’

Palestinian video journalist Bisan Owda shows that Al-Mawasi, a small town in southern Gaza and Israel's offered so-called "safe zone" for over 2.2 million people displaced from the north, has almost no infrastructure or services.

🇵🇸 Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide in Gaza

Fleeing the fighting has become a familiar, but increasingly futile routine in Gaza. Palestinians evacuated to Rafah on Sunday on the orders of Israeli forces but designated safe areas are being bombed regardless.

Faced with a closed border to Egypt in the south - Shelling from multiple directions - and the sea to the west.
The net is closing in on the people of Gaza.

Al Jazeera’s Camille Nedelec reports on how options are running out for people in Gaza.

🇵🇸It’s Bisan From Gaza, And Israel Is Forcing Everyone To The Desert'

Israel has shifted the so-called “safe zone” again. First Khan Younis was supposedly safe, but after continuous bombing, Palestinians are now being forced into the barren sands of al-Mawasi.

The narrow strip of land, about the size of the airport, is where Israel wants Gaza’s 2.3 million civilians to relocate to. But the small, undeveloped zone has no infrastructure for safety or survival.

As Bisan Owda shows us, there is no clean water to drink and not enough fuel to keep people warm.

🇵🇸 The Gaza refugees stranded in Egypt | Mondoweiss –

Many Palestinians have been stranded in Egypt since the start of the war and suffer from poverty as they struggle to contact their loved ones. "Whenever I watch TV, I die a hundred times a day," says Amnah Alshimbari, whose family remains in Gaza.

The following are stories from some of the many Palestinians who were able to cross into Egypt during or before Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.
