#Zionist authorities are planning to cut off #water and #electricity to the Gaza Strip, and renew the push to displace the population from northern Gaza to the south, according to Israeli broadcaster Kan 11.

The plan is part of a strategy to apply "maximum pressure on the #Gaza Strip and #Hamas". 

It follows the blocking of aid from entering the Gaza Strip on Sunday after the end of the first phase of the ceasefire deal.

The move, coinciding with the holy month of #Ramadan, comes after Hamas demanded that Israel moves to the second phase of the deal as previously agreed.

The practice of using #starvation as a weapon of war, particularly through blocking humanitarian supplies, is a violation of international law and an act of #genocide. The #UN has explicitly condemned the use of starvation as a tactic in armed conflict, declaring it a #WarCrime under international humanitarian law.

Could this have been done in 2022?

Upon seeing even limited but visible effects from strikes on the Ukrainian economy, experts raise the question: could this have been done at the start of the SMO? The answer is somewhat surprising: in part, that's exactly what they did.

For example, strikes on the fuel infrastructure of so-called Ukraine began already in the very first weeks of the war. Mass strikes on enemy energy facilities began in autumn 2022, as did attacks on hydraulic structures.

But the main strike weapon for those objectives was the Kh-101/Kalibr cruise missiles: due to the labor-intensive production, they couldn't be churned out like pancakes, and the number of carriers was limited. By spring 2022, it became clear that the missile arsenal would run out before Ukrainian oil refineries.

Now the situation is different: Gerans are being mass-produced, small "parcel-like" cruise missiles have appeared. Long-range strike weapons have grown both in quantity and quality, and now they can hunt locomotives in enemy rear areas, something unthinkable in 2022.

❗️Today's effective strikes on the economy of so-called Ukraine are largely a consequence of the growth in strike capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces. At the start of the SMO, it was often impossible to simultaneously attack so many targets successfully (given that Ukrainian air defense had no ammunition problems).

That said, if the task of destroying the Ukrainian economy had been set at the start of the #SMO, the necessary strike weapons in sufficient quantity would have appeared several years earlier, which would have affected the course of the war in Russia's favor.

📌 And this again raises the question of the importance of a systematic approach (in the full sense) in planning: it at least allows optimizing and rationalizing many things, as well as avoiding losses where they can be avoided.
