Narges Mohammadi’s Audio Message on Beating and Violent Transfer of Political Prisoners to Evin, Separating Death Row Inmates from Others — August 8, 2025
Political prisoners were taken out of Evin Prison under the watch of snipers, in handcuffs and shackles, with violence. They were then brought back to Evin with beatings and further violence.
Death row inmates were separated from the other prisoners and violently transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison.
The Islamic Republic cannot normalize violence against prisoners.
The people of Iran stand as the shelter and support of the brave sons and daughters of this land.
We will not leave political prisoners alone.
The Islamic Republic must answer why it does not stop violence against prisoners.
For my part, and out of national and human duty, I say: if you do not stop this violence, we will hold you accountable at the prison gates.
Political and ideological prisoners must be freed.

Political Prisoner Farhad Hafezi Semnani Beaten After Life-Threatening Coma
Political prisoner Farhad Hafezi Semnani is in a life-threatening state following a coma caused by a delayed medical response. Despite survival odds under 50%, he was prematurely returned to Evin Prison, bypassing essential care. Since his return, he was reportedly beaten for protesting food shortages, placed in isolation, and threatened with new charges. Currently suffering from severe physical complications, his urgent medical needs remain ignored. This combination of physical assault and systematic medical neglect underscores the regime's ongoing disregard for prisoner welfare and basic humanitarian standards.

Evin Prison Welds Doors Shut: Prisoners Denied In-Person Family Visits
Authorities at Evin Prison have reportedly welded shut several doors, including visitation halls, depriving prisoners of face-to-face contact with families. Following recent conflicts, detainees are restricted to booth visits behind glass, a move attributed to fears of escapes or personnel shortages. This occurs despite prisoners’ previous humanitarian actions; during a 2025 missile strike, inmates stayed to assist injured staff and guards. Families condemn the restriction as "added suffering," viewing it as a deliberate tactic to intensify psychological pressure. This physical sealing of the prison highlights the regime’s deepening paranoia and its systematic disregard for the basic human rights of detainees.
