النقش عبارة عن مبخرة قدمها شخص اسمه لحي عث ذو برأن للمعبود عثتر وذلك عندما كان وكيل لبيت ثأرن ذو سلية وعمران وذلك من اجل سلامة سيده شمر يهرعش ملك سبأ ولسلامة أتباعه شعب سكان مدينة سليت أهلها وأرضهم صراب وقياض ومزارع أعنابهم وليبعد عنهم الآفات الزراعية والجراد والبرد والشوان.

3 in the palace of the banū Ṯʾrn ḏ-S¹lyt and ʿmrn,
4 for the safety of his lord S²mr Yhrʿs² king of Sabaʾ
5 and ḏu-Raydān, for the safety of their servant
6 Lḥyʿt ibn Brʾn, for the safety of their vassals,
7 the tribe of the inhabitants of the city of S¹lyt and
8 of his family and of their lands (cultivated with) cereals of the autumn and of the summer
9 and (with) vines in terracing,
10 and may He repel locusts (?), damages,
11 storms, sorceries and enemies.
