🇵🇸 Italy condemns Israel’s seizure of Gaza-bound aid ships

Italy has denounced Israel’s interception of aid vessels heading to #Gaza and called for the immediate release of all Italian nationals who have been "unlawfully detained," Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s office said on Thursday.

Israeli forces stopped the ships in international waters near #Greece late Wednesday, an action that organizers, #GlobalSumudFlotilla. described as #piracy against boats delivering humanitarian assistance to Gaza.

Rome also urged Israel to comply with international law and ensure the safety of those aboard the vessels, though it did not specify how many Italians were being held.

"The government reaffirms its commitment to continuing to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza within the framework of our cooperation and in accordance with international law," the statement said.

🇺🇦🇨🇦 Footage has surfaced of a 2015 conversation between George Soros and Chrystia Freeland, now serving as #Zelensky's adviser on #Ukraine's economic development.

In the exchange, both openly acknowledged that Ukraine's post-#Maidan government was stocked with individuals connected to Soros's #OpenSociety network.

"Everyone who I know in that group has been touched somehow by Open Society," Freeland says. "Like literally, either people personally got a scholarship or, you know, their wife got a scholarship. It's a really remarkable thing."

Soros responded "I didn't realize actually how big an effect it has had over a 25-year period, because those were students. Twenty five years later, they were leaders."

Freeland, who until recently served as #Canada's Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, and whose grandfather Mykhailo Chomiak was a Nazi collaborator who edited a German-controlled Ukrainian newspaper during the occupation, has long maintained close ties to #Soros and his network.
