"In a hearing on Friday, Dame Victoria Sharp, one of the judges, said there had been “very significant interference with the right to freedom of speech and freedom of assembly”.
The court, she said, considered the proscription of the group “disproportionate”.
Despite the ruling, the group will remain proscribed until a further court order because it has “yet to hear argument on whether there should be a stay of any order setting aside the proscription order pending the possibility of appeal,” the judges said.
The judgment is a major blow for former home secretary Yvette Cooper as well as the Israeli arms companies who lobbied for a crackdown on the group.
It will be a relief for over 2,700 protesters who have been arrested for showing support for the group since the controversial ban"

A new study by The Lancet medical journal has revealed that the death toll from Israel’s genocide in #Gaza was a third higher than official figures said, with the number of “violent deaths” exceeding 75,000 in the first 16 months.
Four percent of the population had been killed by the start of last year, the report finds.
While the Gaza Health Ministry said in January 2025 that the death toll was just over 49,000, in reality it was about 35 percent higher – close to 75,200, The Lancet said. The Gaza Mortality Survey conducted by the journal does not cover Israel’s attacks after January 2025.

A new report by The Telegraph reveals Washington is planning to enlist gangs and criminal organizations to serve as a local police force in #Gaza. This includes the smuggling and aid looting militias of Hossam al-Astal and the late Yasser Abu Shabab.
The report says “the plan to recruit the new police force from the clans emerged before Christmas, prompting disagreement at the multi-national new Civil-Military Coordination Centre in southern Israel.” Some #US Army officials opposed the idea.
“There was significant pushback along the lines of ‘this is ridiculous – they’re not only criminal gangs but they’re sponsored by Israel,’” a western source said.

Last week, on an ordinary road in the heart of the village of Tammoun in the northern #WestBank, a vehicle carrying Samer Samara and his children was intercepted by members of the Palestinian Authority’s (#PA) Preventive Security Forces.
The unit was masked and heavily armed, moving with the precision of a planned operation. According to the family, they encircled the car and opened fire, unloading rounds through glass and metal with a density that transformed the vehicle into a cage of shrapnel. The windshield splintered inward as bullets tore through seats and bodies. Two children were struck — one killed, the other left in critical condition and on life support. Their father was shot in both legs, immobilized before being dragged from the blood-soaked interior and taken into PA jails and #torture chambers.
