Qassam al-Sane’e never imagined that his hands, which he once used to type on a keyboard, would one day grip a heavy sledgehammer to break through concrete.
Al-Sane’e, 35, had studied information #technology at Al-Azhar #University. Before Israel’s war on Gaza began in October 2023, he designed websites and provided technical support at a computer repair shop.

Israel paid for a plan to put a digital fence around three hundred American churches. Every phone inside during Sunday service would be tracked and hit with ads. The plan is on file at the United States Department of Justice.
The goal, as printed: “increase positive associations with the Nation of Israel while linking the Palestinian population with extremist factions.” Make Christians like Israel. Make them see Palestinians as terrorists.

Israel has transformed the Gaza Strip from the world’s largest ‘open-air prison’ into the largest ‘#ghetto’ in history, with more than two million Palestinians isolated under the weight of an unprecedented double blockade. This combines military control over around 70 per cent of the enclave’s area, forcing residents into overcrowding and depriving them of their right to housing, with the closure of crossings to systematically control the entry of basic needs. As a result, residents are trapped in a depleted area without the minimum requirements for survival amid ongoing genocide.
The comprehensive and unlawful outer blockade, enforced by closing crossings, is tightening the noose around millions of forcibly displaced people in the #Gaza Strip. It entrenches systematic deprivation by preventing the entry of life-saving supplies, including food, medicine, fuel, and shelter materials. The Royal College of Nursing (RCN), which represents more than 500,000 nursing staff across the #UK, has ended its commercial partnership with #Teva UK, the British arm of Israeli pharmaceutical company Teva Pharmaceuticals.
The decision means Teva UK will no longer sponsor the RCNi nursing leadership summit on migraine and headache services, scheduled for 30 October at the RCN's London headquarters.
RCN chair Carmel O'Boyle confirmed the decision in a letter to Nurses for #Palestine, saying further due diligence had identified operations by Teva Pharmaceuticals that had been subject to legal sanctions and public scrutiny.
