An international collective called The Zionism Observer, took down an IDF extortion website and reverse-engineered its evacuation map website. And it was easier than you might think.

In May this year, as part of its psychological torture campaign on the Palestinians of Gaza, Israel’s army rained down yet another batch of leaflets on the besieged population of Gaza. The leaflets stood out for many reasons, but most of all for the extortion website associated with them.

The Zionism Observer collective, made up of software developers, cartographers, translators, and archivists, traced the website’s registrar to NameCheap and the hosting service to Webflow. They immediately lodged a complaint with both companies.

Webflow removed the IDF’s extortion website within 24 hours.

🇵🇸 At least 39,006 Palestinians have been killed and 89,818 have been wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since 7 October, the Palestinian health ministry said.

In addition to the 37 people killed since this morning, the ministry added that 23 Palestinians were killed and 91 wounded in three separate Israeli attacks in the past 24 hours.

A number of victims remain under rubble and on the streets as the civil defence and ambulance crews have been unable to reach them.

🇵🇸 A new report based on open source evidence backs up figures released by the Palestinian health ministry on the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza since 7 October, despite claims by the US and Israel that the death toll cannot be trusted.

According to an Airwars investigation that independently identified nearly 3,000 full names of civilian victims killed in the first 17 days of the war, the ministry’s figures are “broadly reliable” in spite of the difficulties involved in assessing the casualties.

Since October, the health ministry has regularly released updates of the number of Palestinians killed by Israel’s assault.

The Government Media Office in Gaza says Israel has killed at least 16,000 children in the besieged territory since October.
The media office said in a statement on Tuesday that the figure is part of the overall death toll of more than 39,000 people.
The office said nearly 90,000 Palestinians have been wounded in the war, mostly children and women. About 10,000 remain missing.
34 children have died due to malnutrition, while 17,000 children are living without one or both parents, the office said.
The latest figures come as a leading general medical journal has estimated that the death toll from Israel’s genocidal campaign could be 186,000 or even more, translating to 7.9 percent of the population.

He is also against hosting on X the term “decolonisation” in reference to Israel, claiming perversely that “it implies a Jewish #genocide” – itself an implicit admission that Israelis (not Jews) have long been colonising Palestine and ethnically cleansing Palestinians.

The #IsraelLobby is also pushing hard for a ban on the words “#Zionism” and “Zionist”. It won’t be long before X, like #Meta, cracks down on these terms too.
